#ExplainedSimply Fine-Tuning vs. RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) LLMs can be improved in two main ways: 1️⃣ Fine-Tuning – the model is retrained on specific datasets to specialize in a domain. Think of it as teaching AI by giving it a stack of books to study. 2️⃣ RAG – instead of retraining, the model fetches answers from external knowledge sources in real time. It’s like letting AI reach into a library to find the right book when needed. 🎯 Why it matters: Fine-Tuning gives the model permanent domain expertise, while RAG keeps it flexible and always up-to-date. #LLM #AI #MachineLearning #RAG #FineTuning #GenerativeAI #AIEducation

👗Ralph Lauren meets AI: Introducing “Ask Ralph” Ralph Lauren is redefining the shopping experience for the next generation with “Ask Ralph”, a conversational AI chatbot rolled out in their US app. Developed in partnership with Microsoft’s Azure OpenAI platform, the bot offers styling advice and curated looks based on simple prompts like: 💬 “What should I wear to a concert?” 💬 “How can I style my navy-blue men’s blazer?” Just like an in-store stylist, Ask Ralph interprets context, understands preferences, and refines recommendations, bringing the iconic Ralph Lauren style directly to your fingertips. David Lauren, Chief Branding and Innovation Officer, says: "Ask Ralph is about more than discovery - it’s about engaging consumers with what they love most about Ralph Lauren: our iconic, unique take on style." As AI tools become mainstream, luxury brands are exploring how to blend technology with their heritage, offering personalized experiences without losing authenticity. Ralph Lauren plans to expand the tool, add features, and roll it out to more brands and markets globally. 📲 Could AI become your next personal stylist? On 26 September, at OHDSI UK hosted at the Wellcome Trust in London, Polina Talapova presented “Bridging UK Drug Terminology and OMOP: NHS dm+d Refresh via OHDSI Community Contribution.” Our update brings the dm+d vocabulary current to May 2025 (about 20k adds) with a simple February/August rhythm potential for future updates. We aligned mappings to RxNorm / RxNorm Extension / CVX / SNOMED CT, so concept sets can be built with standards. This happened because OHDSI has a community contribution pathway https://lnkd.in/d2BbYJu2. We thank Health Data Research UK (HDR UK), Alex E. Knight, Dani Prieto-Alhambra, and all the organizers for an excellent event, as well as everyone who engaged with us in discussions. If we didn’t connect during the conference, feel free to reach out — we’d be glad to continue the conversation. #OHDSI #OMOP #OHDSIUK #HDRUK

✅ Poll results are in! We asked you to tell apart human-made art from an AI-generated image🤖 The results? We got 50/50! And that’s exactly what makes this experiment interesting. AI is no longer producing “robotic” outputs. It’s about learning subtlety, style, and even the imperfections that we usually associate with human creativity. At the same time, human artists bring something AI can’t: context, culture, and lived experience. That blurred line isn’t a bug; it’s where the real value lies. In our work with AI, we see this every day: the most impactful solutions aren’t “AI vs. human,” but AI + human. That’s where efficiency, creativity, and innovation actually scale. So while spotting the AI is fun… the bigger question is how we choose to use it. 😉 #AI #HumanVsAI #DigitalArt #FutureOfWork #SpotTheAI
