#AI in corporate board rooms I prepared an article for Forbes Ukraine about the role of AI in corporate board rooms. The article starts by examining one fascinating experiment, when the president of a tech company created a virtual board of directors for himself featuring AI-generated personas of iconic figures like Mandela, Musk, and Steve Jobs - all for the cost of a ChatGPT subscription. This "MVP Board" provides 24/7 strategic guidance across key leadership areas. Interestingly, despite the massive popularity of AI, most board directors use AI only for personal use, and few leverage it professionally for board preparations. Even fewer use AI in the board room as "observers" or actual "virtual board members". In the article I analyze several studies from INSEAD, HBR, Deloitte and others, which cover practical implementation strategies for bringing AI to the board room - from individual director augmentation and board assistance to collective AI integration in board work. The key insight: AI shouldn't replace human boards but augment them, combining reliable human judgment with AI's breadth and analytical precision. As corporate complexity grows, boards must use newly available technologies to improve their decision making practices - this is their fiduciary obligation. What are the opportunities of AI for Europe? It was great to be back at European Forum Alpbach this week and be able to discuss the future of AI also with Klaudia Dominika Czerwińska on Telewizja Polska. Some takeaways: - Only three technologies so far had a significant impact on productivity (and wealth creation): The internet, the PC and AI. We cannot afford to loose AI. - Erik Schmidt expects productivity increases of up to 30% annually from AI. Europe can not afford to only be a customer of the technology.
