The objectives of AUGIS is to improve the delivery, the results and outcome of conditions of the oesophagus, stomach, duodenum, pancreas, liver and biliary tract requiring surgical treatment. AUGIS aims to provide a structure for training objectives, foster developments in Upper Gastrointestinal Surgery, promote educational and academic objectives and act as a liaison with other surgical and academic bodies. AUGIS promotes the establishment of high quality training programmes throughout the UK as a fundamental component of the Association’s activities.
