Mandy, our People Business Partner for Region 5 and a Certified Menopause Coaching Specialist, is fast approaching her 10th anniversary with B&M. Since joining in 2015, Mandy has made a lasting impact across the business. Her work has driven awareness on important topics such as bowel cancer, men’s health, and menopause. Thanks to her dedication, these campaigns now feature across our stores, distribution centres, and even on our own branded toilet paper. One of Mandy’s proudest achievements is recently gaining her Menopause Coaching Specialist accreditation, inspired by her own experience and her commitment to ensuring that no one feels unheard or unsupported. She has since delivered menopause awareness sessions for teams across B&M, helping to create open and informed conversations in the workplace. Mandy’s passion for colleague wellbeing and development continues to shine through in everything she does. In her own words, “It’s a pleasure to get up in the morning to make a difference. I wouldn’t want to work anywhere else.” We are proud to recognise Mandy this Menopause Awareness Day and celebrate the positive difference she continues to make at B&M.

Meet Sarah Rhodes. She is one of the creative minds behind our homeware designs! Sarah joined B&M in April 2024 as a Homeware Designer in our Surface Pattern Design team, based at The Vault in Speke. Since then, she’s already worked on three seasons and has been busy bringing bold, fun, and seasonal designs to life for our customers. “I spotted the Homeware Designer role on LinkedIn just after graduating and knew it would be worth moving cities for,” Sarah shared. “Starting my third season now, I’ve learned so much. Our team is super supportive, and I’ve had the chance to work across so many product types, something not every designer gets to do so early in their career.” Sarah’s loved the team trips to Paris for trend research and attending Maison&Objet, (the international event that brings together interior decoration and furniture), “We always come back so inspired and full of ideas for the next season,” she says. Her proudest moment to date has been designing for the Autumn Winter 2025 Halloween collection, a range that’s now in stores. “It’s so rewarding to finally see our hard work on the shelves!” Keep an eye out for Sarah’s designs in our latest ranges, including those dancing skeletons everyone’s talking about.

We’re thrilled to announce the opening of another B&M UK store that took place this weekend, this time at Palace Grounds in Scotland. 🎉 Our fantastic team worked tirelessly to get everything ready to welcome customers through the doors. A big well done to Store Manager Sharon, Deputy Store Manager Alan, and the whole team for their dedication and effort. We’re also especially grateful to Hamilton District Foodbank Charity for officially cutting the ribbon. Their work in the community is inspiring and it was an honour to celebrate this milestone alongside them.

In celebration of National Customer Service Week, we’re shining a spotlight on two incredible colleagues who live and breathe what great customer service is all about: Julie and Debbie. This dynamic duo perfectly represents what it means to support others, love what you do, and make a difference every day at B&M. Between them, they share years of experience, a strong friendship, and a passion for helping our stores, colleagues and customers. Julie joined B&M in August 2018, bringing with her a wealth of customer service experience. Encouraged by a friend who told her how great B&M was, she started as a part-time Customer Service Advisor. Her hard work and dedication soon stood out. In 2020, she stepped up to cover as Deputy Manager, and by 2022, she was promoted permanently to Customer Service Manager. One of her proudest moments came in 2024 when she was named Colleague of the Year! Debbie’s B&M journey began in May 2019 when she worked as a cleaner in one of our stores. She loved being part of the team and soon decided to join the Support Centre as a Customer Service Advisor. With determination and support, Debbie progressed to Supervisor, and later to Deputy Manager in 2022. She’s incredibly proud of how far she’s come and loves the sense of accomplishment that comes from helping others and tackling challenges head-on. Their secret to success? The people. Julie and Debbie agree that the best part of their job is the team, describing it as one big family: supportive, hardworking and full of laughter. When asked what it’s like to work at B&M, they don’t hesitate to say, “Amazing! Every day brings something different. The work can be challenging, but it’s always rewarding.” For Julie and Debbie, being part of B&M means more than just a job. It’s about growing together, supporting each other, and being proud of what they’ve achieved. #NationalCustomerServiceWeek
