Only 22% of cyber roles in the UK are held by women. That’s not down to ability, but to the barriers and lack of encouragement young girls face. Fortunately, the CyberFirst Girls Competition is back to change that. In this initiative, students from Year 8 (England and Wales), S2 (Scotland), or Year 9 (Northern Ireland) team up to take on fun challenges. Everything from cryptography and logic to artificial intelligence and networking - with regional titles, laptops and cash prizes to be won, along with confidence and collaboration skills that last a lifetime.
