"Great session! I initially wasn't convinced about the email I'd sent to an investor but god a meeting straight away - 100% success rate!" "Really good session and some invaluable learnings, it was good to see Eva do emails from us to the selected contacts to show exactly how she would approach things." "I've been to a lot of investment readiness / prep talks, but this was by far the best one I've ever seen. Amazing insights and tips" Throwback to when the brilliant Eva Dobrzanska came along to Baltic Ventures HQ in Liverpool to meet with our Accelerator 2025 cohort and equip them with the tools, knowledge and playbooks to start their fundraising campaigns in the best way possible. Some people have mixed feelings about founders doing cold outreach when fundraising, insisting that warm introductions is the only way to get results, but there's no doubt that treating it like any other sales process is no bad things and keeps you both organised and disciplined! Yes it's always great when founders tap into their network to get those lovely warm introductions, but there's also something to be said about doing your own research, finding funds that align with your startup and taking matters into your own hands. What do you think? #Liverpool #BalticVentures #tech #accelerator

Wow Google what a fantastic day our Accelerator 2025 founders had yesterday at your London HQ. Baltic Ventures has developed a strong relationship with Google Cloud and its Google for Startups program over the past two years, offering our founders support from big tech and their technical experts on everything from cloud credits and capabilities to AI and Go To Market. Yesterday the team hosted us in their HQ for a team bonding afternoon, overview of the program and technical 1-1s. We were then joined in the evening for networking with a variety of southern based investors and VC’s (thank you for joining us!!) Our Demo Day in January will be lots of fun….. keep an eye out for the sign up over the next few weeks! Our companies are backed and supported by one of the biggest tech companies in the world- If that doesn’t tell you something about us and what we offer what will? Big thank you to the Google team, particularly Maja Brlek and Oisín O'Flaherty for hosting us. #balticventures #Liverpoolstartups #google #techopportunities Claire Lewis Mo Aldalou Becca Harvey Carl Wong David Woods

Co-Founder and CEO @ Baltic Ventures | Ada Ventures Scout

Ada Ventures has today published a ground-breaking piece of research that analyses the personality traits of 171 unicorn founders, identifying key personality traits that investors can look for. The report found that the most successful founders shared the following four key traits.... They are higher on... 🔥 Assertiveness - they push through their ideas and back themselves 👓 Analytical thinking - they think through problems in a structured and logical way They are lower on.... 🌊 Neuroticism - instead they are resilient and composed under pressure 📣 Inward focus - they tend instead towards inspiring others; their team, investors and customers For us at Baltic Ventures, where we invest very early on in a company's journey, these insights are really valuable to support the continual iteration of our founder screening processes before investment and to ensure we are backing diverse founders who are building game-changing businesses.

Q: What do unicorn founders have in common? A: 141 personality traits that defy investor bias. 🚨We’ve just published landmark research debunking one of venture’s most pernicious habits: pattern matching🚨 In partnership with behavioural scientists at Synaptiq, we analysed the personality traits of 171 unicorn founders across North America and Europe to understand what drives billion-dollar success. We discovered: 🔹 Unicorn founders share a strikingly consistent profile - including 4 key traits that investors can look for 🔹88% of unicorn founder traits are shared regardless of their gender, ethnicity or socio-economic background  🔹 Where differences between diverse and non-diverse founders did appear, they often pointed to adaptive strengths shaped by environment For years, investors have relied on instinct and archetype to assess founder talent. It’s created a funding gap rooted in perception, not potential - locking diverse founders out of investment and likely costing the industry billions in missed opportunities. This research has been months in the making and stands to reshape how high-potential talent is recognised, backed, and supported. It’ll be brought to life by Diarra Smith and Amar Mehta at AdaCon this afternoon. Check out the link in the comments to tune in virtually. Francesca (Check) Warner will also be diving into the findings at Sifted Summit on Wednesday, alongside Adam Shuaib, PhD, General Partner at Episode 1 Ventures, Nicolas Cary, Co-founder and Vice Chairman at Blockchain.com, Michelle He, PhD, CFA, Cofounder and COO of Abound, and Sifted’s own Steph Bailey. 📊 Check out the full report to see what unicorn founders have in common, how VCs can spot talent more objectively, and how we at Ada are using the findings to make our investment approach more robust: https://lnkd.in/eMDnypJm

On a mission to make growing businesses more fun. Artist formerly known as Rebecca Stockdale.

What happens when creative industries, games, and tech stop operating in silos? Something pretty special. Off the back of the Games Tech Bootcamp with Baltic Ventures, the Create Growth Programme from DCMS (delivered via GM Business Growth Hub), and my ongoing work with Creative UK, one thing has become very clear: The challenges faced by creative and tech businesses aren’t so different. And neither are the opportunities. We’re all talking about growth, investment, visibility, sustainability. We’re all trying to build things that matter. And the principles we use in startup land - validation, market-testing, value-based positioning - can be powerful when applied to games, creative IP, and new immersive ventures. The real magic happens when we borrow best practice across sectors, not just within them. Which is why I’m really looking forward to joining a panel on cross sector collaboration at the RE:FORMAT Games & Tech Industry Summit October 29th | Liverpool We’ll be diving into: - What makes cross-sector partnerships valuable in practice? - How do we get better at recognising and celebrating different strengths? - Where are the most exciting spaces for collaboration over the next few years? If you’re working in games, tech, immersive, or creative business - or want to understand what the future of collaboration looks like - come along. It’ll be thoughtful, honest, and funny if I'm sat next to Dr. David Tully. I’ve got a discount code for my network - just drop me a message and I’ll send it over.
