🌍 Navigating Transition Risk and Opportunity As long-term investors in essential infrastructure, we understand the importance of early, informed action. Equitix, in collaboration with Baringa, has developed a dedicated transition workstream to better understand and quantify climate-related risks and opportunities. By exploring evolving climate policies, regulations, and market expectations, we recognise our responsibility to anticipate and respond to these shifts. 🎥 In this short video, Charlotte W. (Sustainability & ESG, Equitix) speaks with Jim Fitzgerald (Energy and Resources Director, Baringa) on how this initiative is helping to embed climate risk across the investment lifecycle. This workstream strengthens our ability to: • Engage strategically with our investments • Build internal capabilities for proactive climate risk management • Facilitate transition planning considerations in alignment with evolving regulatory expectations 🔗 Watch the full video to learn more: https://lnkd.in/eCrecxJ9 🌱 See how we integrate climate strategy into infrastructure investments in our latest Climate Report: https://lnkd.in/exaPeb54 #ResponsibleInvestment #ClimateTransition #ESGIntegration #NetZero #ClimateStrategy #Equitix #Baringa

Biomethane can deliver £150-220bn in cumulative savings to the UK energy system by 2050, potentially reducing the costs to deliver Net Zero by 10-20%, with production increasing to more than 100 TWh/year by 2050, a 10x increase on today. On behalf of the Green Gas Taskforce, we've launched a report assessing the opportunity for greater levels of biomethane to cost-effectively support achieving Net Zero for the UK by 2050. Biomethane, a gaseous fuel derived from biological sources that can be used as an alternative to fossil-based natural gas, could provide a low-cost option to reduce emissions and significantly contribute to UK decarbonisation. The analysis highlights how the growth of biomethane, enabled by the gas grid, can offer a pragmatic route to Net Zero and reduce pressure to decarbonise hard-to-abate sectors. Without effective support to grow biomethane production in the near term, the production levels later in the pathway to 2050, that can help reach Net Zero more cost effectively, will be out of reach. 71% of adults think companies that prioritise online safety are more trustworthy. New research from our co-authored report with the NSPCC shows that brands prioritising child safety online are increasingly seen as trustworthy and forward-thinking. In a digital-first world, safeguarding children is becoming a core expectation - not a nice-to-have. Read our report: https://ow.ly/2QRU50XbxtQ
