A child going to school hungry. A child too cold to sleep. A child whose potential is slipping away. This is the reality for thousands of children in the UK right now. Nearly one in three children live in poverty, facing cold homes, empty plates, and missed opportunities. But it doesn’t have to be this way. Together, we can call on the government to urgently lift the two-child limit and benefits cap in full. Every child deserves warmth, food, and hope, not hardship. 👉 Will you help us make it happen? "Violence against children is unacceptable. So how can it be right that children have less legal protection from assault than adults?” Said our Chief Executive, Lynn Perry. Yesterday, we joined NSPCC and Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health (RCPCH) campaigners and public figures, including Jim Chapman, Fay Greaves and Samantha Morton, to deliver a clear message to Downing Street: end physical punishment of children in England. Over 65 countries, including Wales and Scotland, already protect children in law. England’s outdated “reasonable punishment” defence tells children that violence can correct behaviour. It can’t. With NSPCC data showing a 40% rise in adults worried about physical punishment, this is a pivotal moment. “Children need to grow up feeling safe and respected by the adults around them,” added Lynn Perry. The Children’s Wellbeing and Schools Bill offers the chance for real change. ➡️ It’s time for the Prime Minister to act and ensure every child has the same protection from assault as adults.

We’re proud to co-chair the Pornography Coalition with CEASE UK, advocating for amendments to the Crime and Policing Bill that reflect key recommendations from Baroness Bertin’s independent review of pornography. The event was a huge success, generating lots of great peer engagement. Big thank you to Baroness Bertin for hosting such an important discussion in the House of Lords, and to our speakers: ▶️ Matt Tindall (BBFC) ▶️ Professor Clare McGlynn (Durham University) ▶️ Deborah Denis (Lucy Faithfull Foundation) ▶️ Elle Davies (Children’s Commissioner’s Office) for sharing powerful insights into the harms of online pornography and the urgent need for regulation. #OnlineSafety #ChildProtection #CrimeAndPolicingBill

We’re thrilled to celebrate the incredible achievement of our challenge team! 14 colleagues from Adecco and Leeds Building Society, successfully took on the Mount Toubkal trek in Morocco last month. The team set off on the 18th of September, returning on the 23rd, conquering North Africa’s highest peak at 4,167m above sea level. Together, they raised over £30,000 - an extraordinary effort that will make a lasting difference for children and families across the UK. This challenge was more than a climb; it was a powerful display of teamwork, determination, and compassion. We’re so proud of everyone who took part and grateful to all who supported them on their journey. #MountToubkal #LeedsBuildingSociety #Adecco

Safeguarding children isn’t just a duty, it’s a commitment to their safety, wellbeing, and future. For professionals, safeguarding goes beyond reacting to harm, and it can be really challenging for organisations. It’s about creating safe environments, spotting risks early, and giving every child the best chance to thrive. That’s why we now offer seven online, live facilitated safeguarding training courses, designed to give you the knowledge and confidence to put children’s safety first. We also offer safeguarding consultancy support including audits, reviews and independent supervision. Find out more in the comments.
