🎉 🏆 🏆 It was a double win for Bradford at the Pro Landscaper Sustainability & Biodiversity Awards 2025 last week. Our Landscape Design Team were presented with the Local Authority / Council Award, and the City Centre Walking and Cycling Improvement Scheme emerged triumphant in the Commercial Build Project category. Commercial landscape company Gavin Jones picked up the award on behalf of the project, were engaged as the specialist landscape contractor and implemented the soft landscaping elements of the recently completed scheme. The award recognised the whole project team including Bradford Council as the client, providing multi-disciplinary expertise in landscaping, engineering and project management; West Yorkshire Combined Authority as the project funder; Balfour Beatty plc who fulfilled the role of Principal Contractor and Sweco UK Ltd as lead designer, delivering integrated design services. Our city centre has undergone a bold transformation that places people, heritage, and climate resilience at its heart. Once defined by car-dominated streets, our city centre is reimagined as a walkable, welcoming and vibrant destination. Bradford has reclaimed its streets for people. This large-scale intervention has not only improved the city’s look and feel, but also along with other regeneration including the opening of Bradford Live and Darley Street Market have supported economic recovery, strengthened community pride, and laid the foundation for a thriving and sustainable future. https://orlo.uk/Lb3Sn

  • 🥇The Shipley Sustainable Community Hub, at the Old School building on Kirkgate, was a regional winner at the Local Authority Building Control (LABC) Building Excellence Awards 2025 in the Best Public or Community building category and will now go through to the finals. 🥇Representing all local authority building control teams in England and Wales, the annual LABC awards recognise and showcase exemplar builds. A year-long refurbishment following funding from the #ShipleyTownsFund transformed the pre-1900 building into a contemporary base for charitable organisations Hive and the Kirkgate Community Centre, which work together in in providing complementary services and facilities for the local community. 🥇https://orlo.uk/R9VEr
