Oral nicotine pouches are one of the smokeless product types that underpin our efforts to Build a Smokeless World. Nicotine pouches consist of a cellulose-based filler with high-purity nicotine and flavours wrapped in fleece. The simplicity of the products results in generally lower risk profile for nicotine pouches when compared to other smokeless tobacco and nicotine products. Notably, they contain significantly fewer harmful chemicals than found in cigarette smoke. Backed by science, nicotine pouches offer a smokeless alternative with a reduced risk profile as compared to combustible cigarettes for adult smokers who would otherwise choose to continue to smoke. Nicotine pouches are a promising tool for Tobacco Harm Reduction. At the @Global Forum on Nicotine 2025 in Warsaw, Dr Christopher Junker, said: “It is in everyone's interest to reduce the health impacts associated with smoking cigarettes. The science behind nicotine pouches is clear: oral nicotine pouches are on the lower end of the risk continuum of Smokeless Products.
