  • This is Kong Ji Chen who was arrested by BTP officers after they found an SMS blaster in a suitcase he was carrying 😮🎒 He had been loitering on an Underground platform, sending phishing texts to commuters as they rushed through the busy station. Thanks to vigilant members of the public, he’ll now be spending the next 6 months in prison. See something suspicious? Text us on 61016 📱 🔗 http://spkl.io/6006AXyyq

  • "Hate has no place on London’s rail and Tube network - or anywhere else" Chief Superintendent Chris Casey has written for the London Standard today addressing the recent ableist and homophobic attack on comedian Rosie Jones and TV presenter Lee Peart and why they are a timely reminder of the importance of National Hate Crime Awareness Week. We’re proud to be an organisation made up of different people of all races and creeds, and that our people are free to be who they are at work. We want the same to be true for everyone using the rail network. 🚨We continue to treat hate crime with the seriousness it deserves 🎥 We’ve got access to thousands of cameras to enable us to identify and arrest offenders 📉 Whether speaking to an officer or texting us on 61016 – every report helps us build intelligence that can be shared with partners like TfL, influence targeted patrols and operations, and make arrests. Everyone deserves to feel safe on London’s transport network 💙 For National Hate Crime Awareness Week and beyond, we’re sharing real stories of people who made a difference by being active bystanders and acting like a friend by stepping in, showing kindness, and helping to defuse difficult situations. Because sometimes, being there for someone is all it takes. If they can act like a friend, so can you. • The Chief Constable joined Rail Minister Lord Peter Hendy at London Victoria yesterday to relaunch the iconic See it Say it Sorted campaign. New posters will be displayed in stations and you’ll hear new announcements on trains, but the message remains the same. Passengers and rail staff should always text 61016 if something doesn’t look right, or call 999 in an emergency. The Government also announced £17million of funding to improve CCTV across the rail network, which will allow BTP quicker access to evidence so we can keep the railway moving and bring offenders to justice.

Our Chief Constable explains what it means to her to recognise their stories and be able to celebrate with their friends and families. We’re very proud of them all 💙

Watch the moment two killers attempted to hide in plain sight after brutally murdering a 33-year-old man at Seven Sisters Underground station 🎥 They were no match for our officers who used our network of CCTV cameras to quickly track them down and arrest them. They’ve just been sentenced to life in prison. Detective Superintendent Sam Blackburn said: "This was an absolutely senseless and tragic attack that resulted in a father, a brother, and a son losing his life. "While no prison sentence can ever make up for the loss of a loved one, I hope justice being served can bring Ervin's family some peace after this horrific ordeal.”
