Where we started vs how it’s going... See how the transformational Greenheys project is taking shape. ➡️ Since topping out in May, the building has made huge strides. Due for completion in summer 2026, this landmark development will deliver six storeys of state-of-the-art wet and dry lab space for life science businesses specialising in diagnostics, genomics, biotech, and precision medicine. So, what's new? 🌿 Greenheys is being fitted with a HYVERT.AI living wall system expertly installed by I Want Plants. Dynamic irrigation and sensor technology are being placed on the building’s exterior which will help maintain over 1,000 sq ft of green wall coverage and real-time environmental reporting. The wall will feature a mix of wildflowers, which are already thriving off-site in preparation for their grand installation. ➡️ Facade works are nearing completion with skilled teams in operation led by our contractor Willmott Dixon. Dalkia UK are on-site delivering primary mechanical and engineering services such as piped gas distribution systems, primary bracketry works, and more. We’re steps closer to a new era for Manchester’s innovation district and Greenheys is on track to become a major hub for scientific discovery and economic growth in the region. Recently at Sister - our joint venture with The University of Manchester - we embarked on an inspiring morning exploring cross-sector collaboration and how we can build meaning relationships at the first-ever Social Value Networking Breakfast held at the Renold Building. In a room full of attendees from diverse backgrounds such as VCSEs, the public and the private sector, we heard from expert panelists from Manchester City Council, Autotrader, Bruntwood, Black Creative Trailblazers, Young Manchester and Overbury around the topics of: 'Building Partnerships That Last' and 'Making Social Value Everyone's Business'. Exploring big ideas and bold ambition, it was the perfect way to reflect on everything we’ve achieved and what’s next for Sister, one year since launch. 🙌

The recent historic UK state visit with the President and First Lady of the United States and Prime Minister Keir Starmer has given the government much to consider after they struck the multi-billion pound US-UK Technology Prosperity Deal. Over the past 2 weeks, Leeds Digital Festival has created a buzz in the city with breakthrough tech and digital programmes. Here's what we got up to 🎉... 🔹 We kicked off with 'Digital Marketing Room 101: What Would You Bin for Marketing', the first physical event. Hosted and compered by Big Black Door, it was a fun way to start the festival in our Platform building, banishing bad subscriptions that monetise the dream. 🔹In partnership with Hopton Analytics, we hosted 'Beyond the Mask: The Neurodiversity Advantage', celebrating and highlighting neurodiversity in the workplace. Expert and coach Michelle Holgeth took us through the positives, traits, and advantages, plus how we can best support our colleagues, teams, family, and friends. 🔹We jointly hosted Whitecap Consulting's CEO Strategy Forum, which featured a brilliant panel discussion covering leadership, the journey to becoming a CEO, and what strategy is (and isn't) - plus AI, a hot topic that's coming up frequently at our Innovation & Growth Team roundtables and events. 🔹With FinTech North, we enjoyed the backdrop of West Village to host the FinTech Social, sponsored by GoCardless, our newest West Village customer! We brought together 70 guests from tech, financial services, fintech, and adjacent support sectors to enjoy drinks, tasty food and entertainment. It was the perfect opportunity to welcome GoCardless to Leeds. This was just a small flavour of the range of events we’ve hosted over the last two weeks. It's been a fantastic turn out and we've enjoyed handing over our Platform event space to support customer events, with a few spilling into West Village.
