Is the future of closed system water treatment chemical-free? 💧 For decades, we’ve relied on chemical treatments to manage corrosion, scaling, sludge formation and biofouling in closed heating and cooling systems. At BSRIA, we’re busy developing the UK's first comprehensive guide to chemical-free water management for closed systems. This represents a significant shift and provides an alternative approach for protection and maintenance of systems. This guide will complement our existing publications, including BG 29 (pre-commission cleaning) and BG 50 (water treatment), to provide a comprehensive framework for best practice. The guide is currently in development with publication targeted for early 2026.
