After being diagnosed with breast cancer in 2019, dance teacher Natalie Hall found strength through movement and community. During her treatment, she realised how powerful dance could be both physically and emotionally. What started as her own form of therapy has since become Fireflies Fitness - a supportive space where people living with cancer can move, share and shine together. Meet Jody, she recently took Bupa’s Medication Check and it helped her take control of her health. With a family history of breast cancer, she’s been under regular care of her doctor and has previously been recommended Tamoxifen as a preventative drug. But knowing the potential side effects, she hesitated. After taking Bupa’s Medication Check, it revealed that Tamoxifen wouldn’t be effective for her, a powerful insight that now allows her to explore better options. In April 2023, Mary-Ellen experienced a period of intense depression.  Hearing other people’s stories helped her realise she wasn’t alone. Speaking openly about her experience has become a way to support herself and others.
