About us

Born from innovation, Burberry is a global luxury brand with a rich British heritage.  Founded in 1856, our brand is underpinned by our founder’s passion for the outdoors. Thomas Burberry invented the innovative rain-ready fabric gabardine to protect explorers from the elements. In doing so, he created the foundation for the iconic Burberry trench coat, which remains core to the business even today.  Guided by our history of exploration and our shared belief that ‘creativity opens spaces’, our purpose is to unlock the power of imagination to push boundaries and open new possibilities for our people, our customers and our communities. As a values-driven brand, we are committed to creating the next generation of sustainable luxury and believe that diversity, equity and inclusion are essential to fulfilling our purpose. Fostering an inclusive culture where differences are valued and embraced enables us to be more creative, engaged and make a more meaningful contribution to the world around us. Full of British charm, the Highgrove x Burberry collection celebrates the vibrant designs of British artist Helen Bullock. For the 28-piece capsule, which includes womenswear, menswear and accessories, Bullock has created four artworks inspired by the Kitchen Garden at Highgrove – a walled oasis where nature’s design meets careful cultivation.    While the collection is inspired by the natural world, it also honours our deep-rooted relationship with the outdoors. With a focus on respecting nature, the main material of each piece is made from either certified wool, organic cotton or organic silk.     Beyond the collection itself, we are proud to further enhance ongoing nature and environmental activities at Highgrove Gardens through a charitable contribution to The King’s Foundation. The charity also provides access to nature for a variety of visitors and educational programmes, from specialist traditional furniture-making to sessions with community youth groups.    Discover more about the collection here: https://lnkd.in/eN9FdKJ7

Continuing our celebration of a quintessential British summer with archive Burberry beachwear in the Design Museum’s exhibition, ‘Splash! A Century of Swimming and Style’.       Running until 17 August 2025, the exhibition celebrates an enduring love of swimming over the last 100 years. A Burberry towelling beach jacket and a duffle bag from the House’s archive collection is currently on display, loaned from the Westminster Menswear Archive in London.       By the 1980s, we were a lifestyle brand with a wide product offering, including leisurewear for the beach and poolside. Our towelling beachwear comprised unisex styles and accessories such as towels and beach bags, which often featured one of our oldest house codes, the Equestrian Knight.         Discover more about the exhibition here: https://lnkd.in/dPXMbKiG

Burberry at The Met Gala 2025    Attendees wearing custom designs by Chief Creative Officer, Daniel Lee, included André 3000, Angela Bassett, Jalen Hurts, Bryonna Hurts, Cardi B, Jodie Turner-Smith, Law Roach, Liu Wen and Roberto Bolle.    In a first-of-its-kind-collaboration, we partnered with the highly regarded image architect Law Roach. Using his expansive knowledge of style and culture, Roach ensured this year’s theme was prominently woven into the fabric of our creative expression.     This year’s dress code, ‘Tailored for You’, celebrates The Costume Institute’s upcoming exhibition, ‘Superfine: Tailoring Black Style’ - a celebration of Black dandyism from the 18th century through its revival during the Harlem Renaissance in the 1920s and 1930s, and its impact on fashion today. Today we are pleased to announce the winner of the ‘Reimagining Materials’ student competition, brought about in partnership with London College of Fashion, University of the Arts London (LCF) and their Centre for Sustainable Fashion (CSF).     Focused on circularity through design, the competition invited talented LCF students to reinvent excess materials into original products, including our trench gabardine and signature Check fabrics. The winning design belongs to Clara Gröning, BA (Hons) Fashion Design and Development student at LCF. Clara will receive a cash prize and will join Burberry for an internship this autumn.     The winning look and nine finalists’ designs were selected following a series of portfolio reviews, prototype sessions and a heritage workshop. The students’ designs were showcased at LCF’s Wolfson Gallery at the college’s new home in east London and at our flagship Regent Street store in April.     Discover more about the ‘Reimagining Materials’ competition here: https://lnkd.in/efg3TyzE

The nautical theme of our High Summer 2025 campaign is inspired by the house’s long-standing history of adventure.    In the early 20th century, we made protective yachting apparel, as well as tailoring for those who spent leisure time either on or near the water. We also provided fishing garments and accessories, which were strong and lightweight.     Discover more about High Summer here: https://lnkd.in/e9yrFBDB

At Burberry, all colleagues are offered three paid volunteering days a year to make a meaningful difference for a cause they care about. This month, our colleagues across the globe have contributed their days to a range of projects designed to protect wildlife and enhance biodiversity.    In London, colleagues worked with environmental charity, Thames21 to restore natural river processes along the Thames, removing excess vegetation and clearing the area to allow it to flourish and encourage biodiversity.     At Skelton Grange Environment Centre in Leeds, colleagues worked with The Conservation Volunteers to help create a safe, natural space for children and young people in the local community to enjoy and learn about wildlife and the environment.   In Hong Kong, volunteers took part in a conservation initiative and beach clean-up with Community Co-Learning on Shui Hau Island - combining hands on environmental work with ecological education.     Discover more about our volunteering efforts here: https://lnkd.in/ehniHceZ
