📚 Pile of books on your list, but not in the mood to read them? Our #CambridgeDictionary #NewWords blog defines 'mood reading' as a method of choosing books to read based on the way you feel at the time, rather than reading books in a fixed order. It reflects a more flexible approach to choosing what to read and shows how emotions often guide those choices. Should ‘mood reading’ be added to the #dictionary? 🤔 🔗 Have your say and explore more new words here: https://cambrid.ge/3KFvYla

“We can aspire to, and achieve, a better secondary education” – Myles McGinley. “More can be done at Key Stage 3 to head off failure at 16. And we can and must do so while protecting rigour.” Today, Cambridge OCR partnered with the Education Policy Institute (EPI) for a lively panel discussion on curriculum reform at the #ConservativePartyConference. Joining Cambridge’s Myles McGinley on the panel of experts was Charles Clarke, former Education Secretary; Baroness Amanda Spielman, former Chief Ofsted Inspector; Mike Crowhurst, Director of Education & Skills at Public First; Kat Howard, Executive School Improvement Lead (Secondary) at the Windsor Academy Trust; and Natalie Perera, Chief Executive of EPI. The panel explored the forthcoming final report of the Curriculum and Assessment Review, discussing what is needed to support aspirations and raise standards in 11–16 education in the UK.
