We're backing independent businesses in Wood Wharf 📍 This week we welcomed Councillor Musthak Ahmed and the London Borough of Tower Hamlets team to 8 Harbord Square in Wood Wharf, to celebrate something we're genuinely excited about - our growing community of independent retailers. At 8 Harbord Square each business has been chosen for what makes them different: their authenticity, their connection to Tower Hamlets and the wider community, and the unique offering they bring to our residents, visitors and workers. Malaysian flavours at Ong Lai Kopitiam. Countryside-inspired blooms at The Flower Club. Authentic Japanese baking at Cafe Seek. Boutique nail care at Awe London. Bespoke pet grooming and spa at Pawsome. A brilliant blow dry at Wayne's Salon. And a few more in the works, a community of great brands is growing. This project isn't just about leasing traditional retail space - it's about building a community based on independence, authenticity and real connection. Working with LBTH, we're creating something that reflects the character of the people who live and work in our wider community 🤝 Head down to Wood Wharf, past Union Square, to meet the people behind these businesses and become part of their success story. #LoveTowerHamlets

Canary Wharf - 𝐖𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐀𝐦𝐛𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐋𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐬. Canary Wharf is a place where everyone can come to aim high and do more, this once ambitious idea has evolved into a vibrant district for people, companies and culture to raise the bar. Canary Wharf's story is one of continuous evolution and we're not done yet. To help capture what it feels like to be part of this place, we've asked our community to tell their diverse stories of progress and purpose. From Deborah Ojutalayo's ambition to make a meaningful impact through her work in gene therapy at AviadoBio, to Zopa Bank's Emily Dickens changing the future of banking for people in the UK and Miriam Buether bringing her creative dream to life designing a purpose-built Hunger Games arena in Troubadour Theatres Limited - we're cultivating a place where people can. Look out for our incredible advocates across London from today. Thank you Daniel KEMDENG. MBA, MSc, CQF, Sameur R., Deborah Ojutalayo, Dan James, Emily Dickens, Miriam Buether, Jack Croft, Will Murray and Pippa Wood for your contributions in making Canary Wharf a place where ambition - in all its forms - can thrive.   #WhereAmbitionLives #LoveTowerHamlets

  • From Site to Studio 🏗️👩🎨 As Recycle Week comes to a close, we're proud to share a remarkable circularity story of London based artist Niamh Hannaford and some unlikely construction waste. Using donated waste from our Wood Wharf construction site, Niamh turned something that would once have been at the end of it's life cycle, into something beautiful. This innovative approach perfectly embodies our vision of creating a circular community at Canary Wharf - where materials find new purpose rather than reaching landfill. Niamh's practice centres on giving discarded materials new life, creating large sculptural works that challenge perceptions about waste and value. Her recent MFA degree show at Goldsmiths University featured the materials donated from our site, showcasing how a circular community approach can connect local creators with resources that would otherwise be wasted. Partnerships like these illustrate the true power of circular thinking - where one project's waste becomes another's inspiration, creating value that extends far beyond our neighbourhood.

  • It's always a great day when we can celebrate our colleagues' triumphs 🎉 Today we're happy to share that CWG has won the Internal Engagement Award at the Supply Chain Sustainability School (UK) Summit 🏗️🌿♻️ Out of their 220 partner organisations, we're incredibly proud to be recognised for our internal ESG engagement, as we have always believed that internal engagement builds the foundation for authentic action. 🤝 From hosting a wide range of training modules on Workday and developing our own CWG-specific ESG training module "Climate Change and Carbon", to contributing to the school's climate groups including the Nature Recovery Group and organising and delivering impactful workshops and webinars - it's incredible to see that every effort from our colleagues has made a difference. This recognition highlights what we already knew: meaningful ESG progress starts from within. While it's important to communicate our sustainability commitments externally, the real transformation happens when every team member understands their role in creating positive change. Congratulations to Yohannah Caussyram and Olivia Phillips, MIEMA, CEnv for their work in championing the importance of internal engagement. Their dedication shows that sustainable change is a collective effort, built one engaged colleague at a time.
