Congratulations to Ashton Sixth Form on achieving their Quality in Careers Standard! 🥳 It was wonderful to work alongside you as you worked towards the accreditation. A true reflection of the hard-work, effort, and standard of careers provision across the college. Well deserved! 🏆
Proud to share that Ashton Sixth Form College has been awarded the Quality in Careers Standard! This national recognition highlights our commitment to providing every student with high-quality careers education, information, advice and guidance. It’s a reflection of the collective effort across our college community — from teaching staff embedding careers in their curriculum, to the many employers, universities and alumni who help our students see what’s possible beyond college. And of course the amazing Careers and Employability team. Alexandra Noble, Jody Cocking, Megan Birch, Lindsey Dhokia, Deborah Hill Williams The assessment process was rigorous and reflective, and we’re thrilled that it confirmed the strength of our provision and the impact it has on student progression and confidence. A big thank you to everyone who plays a part in making careers education at Ashton such a dynamic, student-centred part of college life. #CareersEducation #QualityInCareers #FutureReady, Steven Leach, Ashton Sixth Form College

Today we’re at Raise Up - a social mobility and youth summit bringing together young people, adults and businesses. More than 300 young people will be there today. Our Director of Operations, Sarah Vaughan, is at BOXPARK Liverpool, to meet young people, hear from inspirational speakers, and learn about Channel 4's latest research into social mobility and the mindset of Gen Z – and how this can help us understand how to build a future fit for a generation. Speakers include special guests Ashley John-Baptiste (presenter and author), discussing his lived experience in the care system, Sarah Atkinson (CEO of Social Mobility Foundation), and Dragon’s Den’s Sara Davies MBE. Cllr Marion Atkinson, Leader of Sefton Council and Liverpool City Region Combined Authority portfolio holder for Employment, Education and Skills also spoke about the vision for young people across the region. Sarah Vaughan is pictured with Joe Hall, Senior Research Executive at Channel 4. If you see Sarah, say hello! She’ll tell you about the exciting work we’re doing in the #LiverpoolCityRegion and across the country to help young people overcome barriers and fulfil their potential, and how we're working to embed our participants’ voices into everything we do. World Mental Health Day is about awareness, advocacy, and mental health education. 🌍 This year's theme is 'access to services - mental health in catastrophes and emergencies' and aims to highlight the importance of people being able to protect their mental health. Across all aspects of our charity, mental health awareness and the promotion of positive mental health is pivotal. This is something we are driven about implementing across workplaces and education centres across the country, and we can support you in a variety of ways. 🫂 We can deliver mental health awareness sessions for workplaces, qualified courses in 'Specific Mental Health Conditions' or 'Understanding Mental Health First-Aid and Mental Health Advocacy', and we can help you develop a safe and supportive work environment through our resilience training. With the aim of providing confidence in signposting, access to resource, increasing understanding and knowledge, we want to ensure that everyone, everywhere can support their own mental health, and the mental health of those around them, as best as they can. For more information on how we can support you and those around you, please don't hesitate to reach out to [email protected]. 📨

With our aim to make this year our biggest event yet, we’re looking for even more exhibitors and schools to get involved. Want to know how? Wellbeing and performance are intertwined, and we understand the importance of a workplace that supports their colleagues as well as their clients. Not every workplace is the same, but every workplace needs the structures, resources and foundations in place to support their staff and service users. Our mental health in the workplace offer has three variants, ensuring that, no matter what setting you’re in, you can benefit from increased awareness, advocacy and signposting. 🪧 Mental Health Awareness (CPD): a one-day course aimed at gaining understanding and background information on common workplace mental health issues. You will gain access to resources and information that will enable you to support and signpost effectively. 💡Level 2 Awareness of Specific Mental Health Conditions: a one-day qualification to raise awareness of mental health and the problems that can cause mental ill health in and out of the workplace. It will give you the knowledge, ability, and confidence to support individuals. 💬 Level 2 Understanding Mental Health First-Aid and Mental Health Advocacy: a one-day qualification to raise awareness of mental health conditions, support you in creating a culture of care in your workplace community, and enable you to effectively promote positive mental health. Ready to support your workplace? Reach out to [email protected] and we can help you discover which session will support your team the most, or tailor delivery structured around your team’s needs.
