  • Today, on World Student Day, we’re proud to celebrate the significant contribution students make through CCP’s Student Placement Programme. Since its launch in 1991, the programme has evolved into a dynamic and diverse initiative — initially focused on Social Work placements, it now welcomes students from a wide range of disciplines, each bringing fresh perspectives and valuable skills to our organisation. Since April 2025, students from our university partners have contributed an outstanding 7,581 hours of placement time. These hours represent far more than just numbers — they reflect meaningful work, innovative ideas, and real-world impact that strengthen our services and extend the reach of what we’re able to achieve. We are proud to collaborate with a range of exceptional institutions, including: University of Gloucestershire University of Worcestershire Bournemouth University Plymouth University Oxford Brookes University University of the West of England Bristol University The Student Placement Programme is a truly reciprocal partnership. Students support projects that may otherwise be beyond our capacity, while gaining essential hands-on experience that underpins their academic learning and future careers. 💼 To all the students who have contributed their time, talent, and passion to CCP — thank you. Your impact is felt across our services and within the communities we support. #WorldStudentDay #StudentPlacements #ProfessionalDevelopment #SocialImpact #CCP #FutureLeaders #UniversityPartnerships

  • On Friday, we were proud to stand alongside local partners at the official launch of the Herefordshire Homeless Charter, a collective commitment to work together towards one shared goal: ending homelessness in Herefordshire. If you look closely at the Charter’s official branding, you’ll spot the CCP logo included, a small but powerful reminder of the role we’re playing as part of this important collaboration. The Charter is the result of months of conversations and partnership working, and it will sit alongside Project Brave, another initiative we’re deeply involved in to tackle homelessness in the county. The launch took place at Lee’s Place, a new charity-run café, and brought together many community leaders, including the Deputy Mayor, MP Jesse Norman, and senior members of Herefordshire Council. We’re also delighted to share that CCP will be supporting Lee’s Place every Friday evening by delivering food donated by Waitrose, helping to strengthen community support where it’s needed most. Together, with our partners and the local community, we’re committed to creating real change and building a future where everyone has a safe place to call home. 🏡💛

  • World Homeless Day – 10 October Every day at CCP, we meet people who are experiencing homelessness or who are just one step away from it. World Homeless Day is a time to pause and recognise the challenges faced by those without a stable home, while also highlighting the work being done in our communities to change that story. At CCP, we provide supported accommodation, outreach, and early intervention services to help people move away from crisis and towards independence. It is not only about housing, but about hope, dignity, and opportunity. Homelessness doesn't have to be an inevitability. Here's what we are doing to ensure that everyone who needs us has a roof over their head. Last year: - We provided access to high quality homes and a package of support to 526 individuals, mostly young people, and many who are care-experienced. - We offered community-based support, information, advice and guidance to a further 5,121 households to help them keep their home, or move into a place of their own. - 461 people who would otherwise be street homeless were supported by us to access temporary or emergency accommodation. - Thanks to your support, we raised £30,000 through Big Sleep Out and wider pledges to generate a crisis fund, available to households on the brink of homelessness, as well as Gloucestershire's first ever Chelpod - a stepping stone from street to home, and a safe, warm and secure place offered to people street-sleeping. Today we want to thank our teams, volunteers, and partners who work tirelessly to ensure that no one faces homelessness alone. We also ask our community to join us: learn, share, and stand in solidarity with those who deserve not just a roof, but a home and a future. 💚 Together, we can build brighter futures, one person at a time. #WorldHomelessDay #CCPCharity #EndHomelessness #BuildingBrighterFutures #CommunitySupport

  • This week, we have gathered across CCP offices in Gloucestershire and Dorset to take part in the national Macmillan Coffee morning. Several members of our CCP family are experiencing their own cancer journeys, or are supporting family members and friends through theirs. Nearly 400,000 people in the UK are diagnosed every year with cancer. Our thoughts today, are with them all. We reserved a special place on our table and in our thoughts for Ramona, which made gathering today, for this cause, especially poignant and meaningful. Amidst the homemade cakes and savouries lovingly made by her colleagues and friends, we decorated our table with sunflowers – Ramona’s favourite flower – from her service yesterday. Organisations such as Macmillan support thousands of people and families through the diagnosis and treatment of cancer, and we hope in some small part we have contributed to the ongoing care and support of anyone experiencing this disease. We have raised, and commit to this cause, over £600 from our own coffee mornings. If you would like to make a donation through our page, please do so here: https://lnkd.in/eR2jwyWw

  • By now, many of you closely connected with CCP and the Ray family will have heard the heartbreaking news that Ramona Ray, our Director of Community Based Services, and wife to Cordell, our CEO, passed away on Saturday 30th August, following a cancer diagnosis. To say we are devastated is an understatement, but the outpouring of support to Cordell and their two children, Barnaby and Flo, as well as the wider CCP family, has been much appreciated. Colleagues and friends have been supporting the family in their grief and will continue to do so. The family have arranged a celebration of Ramona’s life, and would like to extend a welcome to anyone who knew Ramona and who would like to be present. The celebration will take place on Thursday 25th September at 14:30, beginning with a short service at St Nicolas Church (GL50 4PA), and then on to the Storyteller in central Cheltenham. Guests are welcome to join both, or either. Those of you who would like to attend, but who haven’t already been in touch, please complete this simple RSVP to help the family plan and to receive email updates when further details are agreed. https://lnkd.in/eHyWHtAx When the time is right, we will share more about Ramona as a person, what she meant to CCP, and the legacy and impact of her 24 years of service to her community as a pioneer and advocate of early help support to families.

  • On Wednesday 3rd September, we were pleased to welcome nurses Ruth and Helen from the Community Health Check team at Gloucestershire Health and Care NHS Trust to CCP Pantry. In the run-up to National Know Your Numbers Week, they provided our service users and staff with free blood pressure checks, oxygen and pulse testing, and valuable health advice. They also signposted individuals to wider services, including podiatry, menopause support, smoking cessation, Healthy Lifestyles, and mental health support. For many of the people we support, accessing healthcare can be challenging due to cost, travel, or other barriers. By bringing these checks into the heart of our community, we are helping to make essential health support more accessible and inclusive. Ruth and Helen saw 13 pantry members during their visit, with some referred on to their GPs for further care. We are hugely grateful for their time, expertise, and commitment to improving community health. #KnowYourNumbers #CommunityHealth #HealthEquity #PartnershipWorking #CCP
