High or low? CCLA's November market barometer is out now. Each month our investment team gauges the pressure of global investment markets. In our charts of the month, we look at: ▪️ Monetary policy risks tightening if the Fed doesn't ease more now, in as much as decelerating nominal GDP growth is converging on nominal interest rates. But we expect the Fed to cut aggressively further, especially post the May advent of a Trump-appointed Fed Chair. ▪️ The Fed's balance sheet will stop shrinking post 1 December too, which will help. ▪️ Repo usage at the Fed has not picked up which is encouraging despite credit rumblings ▪️ The retail investor frenzy is gathering intensity - it all feels increasingly speculative Read our latest barometer here 👉 https://lnkd.in/eiyZwwRi *For professional investors*

🧠 Overlooking mental ill health in the office could cost investors billions. Now in its fourth year, CCLA's global corporate mental health benchmark evaluated the public disclosures and wellbeing policies of 120 global companies. Amy Browne, Deputy Head of Sustainability at CCLA, shares an overview of CCLA’s benchmarks with Natalie Kenway and why failing to act on corporate mental health could cost both businesses and investors. ‘Yes, there is a moral case to be made for pushing ahead with this, but also a very strong financial case for action.’ https://lnkd.in/evpPk-_u Link to benchmark in comments below. 👇 Asset TV

Back in 2022, CCLA Investment Management led a group of investors to call for migrant seasonal workers in the UK to receive compensation for fees paid to secure employment and for the UK agricultural supply chain to implement the Employer Pays Principle. The new documentary by BBC File on 4 Investigates, ‘Abused for Our Food’ illustrates how the situation is still dire. The documentary looks at the Seasonal Workers’ Scheme and how migrant workers are being mistreated and subjected to unacceptable living conditions while they labour on UK farms. Despite the establishment of the Seasonal Workers’ Taskforce to bring together the agricultural supply chain to address this issue, many agricultural migrant workers in the UK find themselves in incredibly difficult situations and without the funds to survive or return home. Our Director, Modern Slavery, Dame Sara Thornton says now is the time for supermarkets to act: “Supermarkets have been part of the Seasonal Workers’ taskforce for years. Several of the supermarkets in the UK have made public commitments to the Employers Pay Principle but we are now at a key inflection moment. This is a key test for their commitment.” Dan Ashby Ge (Georgie) Styles #BetterWork #ModernSlavery #BetterWorld https://lnkd.in/ewUY3sxm

Local Authority Pension Fund Forum (LAPFF) & CCLA lead over £3tn investor group in urging FTSE 100 firms to provide shareholder vote on climate strategies. Only five FTSE 100 companies offered shareholders transition plan votes in 2025. ‘Climate change is a systemic risk to investment markets and a material threat to shareholder value. Our clients continue to tell us that it is the issue about which they are most concerned. As stewards of our clients’ capital, we have a duty to push companies to maintain ambition and deliver credible transition strategies, regardless of geopolitical headwinds. 'With COP30 on the horizon, it is yet another reminder for investors and companies to ensure the real economy transitions in line with the Paris Agreement and keeps global warming well below 2°.’ Peter Hugh Smith Read more: https://lnkd.in/ej2D2kKj #betterenvironment

Another fantastic event by SRI Services and Partners for #GoodMoneyWeek yesterday. 🔭 Look out for the doodle summarising James Corah’s panel on how investors can help achieve net zero - they had a live cartoonist for the day! ➡️Some takeaway quotes from James. ‘Climate risk is investment risk. Climate risk is people risk.’ ‘We have to look beyond the metrics to drive real world change and recognise that engagement is a really useful tool.’ Thank you Julia Dreblow and team! #spottheredbuses
