We welcome the progress of the Mansion House Compact, which continues to demonstrate encouraging momentum in its early stages. Signatories have doubled their investment in unlisted equities compared with last year — an increase outpacing the broader defined contribution market. It is vital that both government and industry build on this progress by promoting a shift in focus from cost to long-term value for money when selecting pension funds, as championed by the Employer Pension Pledge.

Elected Members of the City Corporation have elected Philip Woodhouse as the next Chief Commoner, a role which dates back to 1444. When he takes up his duties in the spring, Philip will act as an ambassador at ceremonial occasions and work to uphold the rights and standards of Members. The City of London Corporation was proud to host and support the inaugural meeting of the RegTech Strategy Group on 15 October 2025 — a collaboration between Innovate Finance, EY, and the City Corporation, first announced at the Innovate Finance Global Summit 2025. Chaired by Christopher Woolard CBE, Partner and Chair – Global Regulatory Network at EY, the Group brings together senior representatives from HM Treasury, the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA), the Bank of England, and leaders from banks, RegTechs, FinTechs, and investors. The Group aims to grow the UK RegTech sector by 20% over the next five years, reduce compliance costs, and strengthen the UK’s position as a global leader in regulatory technology.
