🚀 The £70 million Investment Fund for Northern Ireland (IFNI) has reached a significant milestone, with £30 million deployed to 35 innovative Northern Irish businesses in just 18 months since the Fund’s launch. Managed by Clarendon Fund Managers and Whiterock on behalf of the British Business Bank, the Fund has supported firms from multiple sectors with investments totalling £18 million, which have in turn generated an additional £12 million in private sector funding. EA and SustainIQ light up awards event 🥳 The EA has been recognised for our work with software company SustainIQ, using data to transform energy management and sustainability in the NI schools estate. The Capturing Our Carbon Capital project, which was also supported by the Strategic Investment Board (SIB), was named Best Public/Private Partnership Working Initiative at the UK wide APSE - Association for Public Service Excellence awards. SustainIQ and EA worked with twelve schools from the primary, post primary and special school sectors to develop a solution for identifying levels of greenhouse gas emissions and make informed, data-driven decisions which help schools save money on their energy bills. Our collective motivation is unwavering: to bring effective screening tools and treatments to patients as quickly as possible and provide better care. We are dedicated to addressing this challenge by advancing the NeuLogiq® Platform to enable better, faster decision-making in CNS clinical trials. By providing a new standard for measuring disease progression, we are empowering the biopharma industry to accelerate the development of much-needed therapies. Today we are excited to announce the publication of breakthrough research from the University of Bath and University of Bristol that demonstrates the real-world efficacy of a passive EEG test (Fastball EEG) in identifying memory decline years before a clinical diagnosis. Cumulus is developing a scalable version of Fastball EEG – AccelADx, which is currently deployed in two large grant-funded studies. This week at #AAIC2025, Cumulus Neuroscience presented data from the first-in-class CNS-101 study which confirmed that at-home endpoints showed greater separation with Alzheimer’s pathology (pTau217) than the benchmark endpoint Alzheimer’s Disease Assessment Scale-Cognitive Subscale (ADAS-Cog 13) over the study time-course. Additional analysis demonstrated that individual digital endpoints can enable streamlined study designs which may reduce overall costs, accelerating results leading to earlier go/no go decisions - ultimately delivering much needed therapies to patients faster. We’re excited to share that Clarendon Fund Managers has made the first investments from our £39m Co-Fund III, supporting two pioneering Northern Ireland companies - StimOxyGen and Dia Beta Labs Ltd, both based in Coleraine and spin-outs from Ulster University.
