Coming out of education, whether that’s school, college or university and taking that step to decipher the right career move is often incredibly challenging and one we don’t always get right. Many of us don’t know what we want at such a young age. Most recruiters would say they have fallen into the industry, but why is this? Recruitment historically has had a questionable reputation but actually, it’s incredibly rewarding and a great industry to be a part of and thats something our latest Academy intake are seeing for themselves. Recruitment and Executive Search present a fabulous career, that’s not only financially rewarding but it also opens the door for people to learn about industries of interest to them. It helps support well-established and recognised brands globally, as well as help identify the talent for new startups, that carve the pathway for new innovations that lead to them becoming the next global dominators of their sector. A healthy balance of seasoned recruiters and younger, less experienced team members at the start of their journey is what makes for a forward thinking, diverse and rewarding environment. When someone finds themselves in an industry such as recruitment, that they felt was right but then for whatever reason it hasn’t transpired to what you want it to be, take some time to question whether it’s really the industry or moreover the business and specific opportunity that wasn’t suited to you. This is incredibly important. Whilst I would love to believe people love to work for our business, the reality is people may be enticed to join us because of our history, our brand to some extent, or simply the opportunity that was presented. I feel people stay in a business primarily because of the people they work alongside, their managers, their directors, their team/colleagues, and that’s what makes CSG Talent so successful and for us to have such long standing team members. In recent weeks, I’ve spent time with the latest intake of our Academy and it’s been refreshing to see their drive, work ethic and ambition early on in their journey. I'm excited to see results in the coming months, we are already seeing positive activities and it’s great to see what Joni Smith is building in our Manchester office. We’re always keen to hear from experienced recruiters, or those looking to hear more about our Recruitment Academy for those new to industry – Reach out if you’d like to learn more about your next career move.

  • Across multiple sectors, we’re seeing the same pattern emerge. Significant investment arrives ➡️ Organizations scale quickly ➡️ Structures are redesigned at speed And then performance starts to wobble. The issue isn’t ambition or intent from employees. It’s that complexity is increasing faster than leadership capability is adapting. In high-investment environments, leaders are now increasingly expected to: - Make decisions with incomplete information - Operate under sustained scrutiny - Lead through integration, not just growth - Build trust quickly with boards, investors, and partners This is where experience matters more than CVs, and in many cases it becomes critical for businesses to consider a skills-first approach to hiring. Structural change is a stress test in these scenarios, and leadership determines whether it holds. We’ve been exploring this challenge across several sectors recently in articles with our teams, and the same leadership patterns keep surfacing. Explore recent industry-specific insights covering this topic, from consultants Russell (CDMO), Henry (Data Centers), David (Electrical Contracing), Harvey (Animal Nutrition) and George (Packaging & Robotics). Full articles available on-site.

  • Q2 was a strong one. We finished the quarter over 100% of target, which is something we’re incredibly proud of. These results came from outstanding performance across the whole team, spanning multiple sectors and disciplines. Alongside the sales results, we also made huge progress towards CSG Talent's Vision 2030 across People, Brand, Financial and Operational goals. And of course, it wouldn’t feel right not to mark the moment. The UK team celebrated properly with good food and good vibes at Habbibi Leeds - a well-earned end to a great quarter. We look forward to seeing our Australian team celebrating by hitting the waves at their surf celebration in Feb.
