To mark World Mental Health Day, we invited colleagues to share a coffee and catch up. This year’s theme highlights the vital role of working environments in shaping wellbeing. Our ambition is to create a workplace where community thrives, with regular opportunities to meet, share conversations, ideas and experiences, and forge friendships in a positive and supportive environment - regular touchpoints that are vital for good mental health. As a manufacturing business, our employees typically work in teams carrying out very different jobs, from shopfloor fitting to machinery design, finance and administration. It’s easy to spend most of our time with team members, but this means we miss out on valuable interactions with people in other areas of our business. Today’s initiative was a great opportunity to overcome those barriers and catch up with colleagues we don’t spend time with day-to-day. #WorldMentalHealthDay #MentalHealth #MentalHealthAwareness #WorkplaceWellbeing #EmployeeMentalHealth #MentalHealthMatters #HealthyWorkplace #MindfulnessAtWork #Manufacturing #Engineering

Welcome to our new apprentices who begin their training with Cygnet Texkimp this month. Aaron, Javier, Harry and Connor will work alongside experienced engineers, fitters and designers at our Cheshire manufacturing facility and Innovation Centre, and study part-time with the Trafford & Stockport College Group. This year also marks the start of our new apprentice training and recruitment partnership with Trafford & Stockport College Group, which is already shaping up to be an extremely collaborative and supportive initiative for everyone involved. #CompositesUKSkillsPledge #Apprenticeships #SkillsForLife #CygnetApprenticeship #STEM #Careers

Chemical engineering undergraduate Sam joined our R&D team this month for two weeks of work experience, before returning to his third year of study at the University of Bath. Experiences like these are an excellent way for young engineers to dip their toe into live engineering environments and gather unique knowledge that will give them an edge in their future careers. They're also an important way for our industry to develop the next generation of engineers and help bridge the gap between academia and industry. "Working at Cygnet Texkimp has given me an experience of industry that no lecture or textbook ever could," said Sam. "It's a great way to apply what I'm learning at university to real-life commercial technologies and find out first-hand what jobs in engineering can look like."
