Continuing our celebration of a quintessential British summer with archive Burberry beachwear in the Design Museum’s exhibition, ‘Splash! A Century of Swimming and Style’. Running until 17 August 2025, the exhibition celebrates an enduring love of swimming over the last 100 years. A Burberry towelling beach jacket and a duffle bag from the House’s archive collection is currently on display, loaned from the Westminster Menswear Archive in London. By the 1980s, we were a lifestyle brand with a wide product offering, including leisurewear for the beach and poolside. Our towelling beachwear comprised unisex styles and accessories such as towels and beach bags, which often featured one of our oldest house codes, the Equestrian Knight.
