  • 🗣️ "The SOAMEVA project is very important in the South of Madagascar, as it contributes to improving the vaccination situation of the most vulnerable children. The advanced strategy implemented by the project considerably helps primary care centers to reach children located in the most remote villages." This powerful testimonial from the field highlights how SOAMEVA is making a real difference in hard-to-reach communities by bringing life-saving vaccines closer to the children who need them most. 💉👶 In a region where distance and limited infrastructure often prevent access to basic health services, SOAMEVA’s strategies are: ✅ strengthening the capacity of frontline health centers 🏥 ✅ improving coverage for the most vulnerable 👩👧👦 This impact is made possible through a strong partnership approach, and we thank our valued partners for their support: Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance, the Bayer Foundation, the UBS Optimus Foundation, Charité - Universitätsmedizin Berlin and mTOMADY 📍 Learn more about how the project is reshaping access to vaccination in southern Madagascar: https://cutt.ly/6rQ6gb5l #Vaccination #DoctorsForMadagascar #SOAMEVA #Madagascar

  • 📈 #ExtraPulmonaryTuberculosis (EPT) accounts for approximately 22% of all cases of #tuberculosis diagnosed in 2024 in Madagascar. In the southern regions of Madagascar, which are also the area of intervention of Doctors for Madagascar | Ärzte für Madagaskar, approximately 39% of cases observed are EPT. ✅ 🔬 Screening and confirmation of the diagnosis of #EPT requires specialized tests and a multidisciplinary, consistent, and well-structured approach. 📌 This workshop, held from August 6 to 8, 2025, aims to develop a national guide for the screening of extrapulmonary tuberculosis to improve the quality of tuberculosis care in Madagascar. 🔗 It brings together experts from disciplines concerned with extrapulmonary forms of tuberculosis to define its different forms, including the Directorate for the Control of Communicable Diseases of the Ministry fo Public Health, the National Tuberculosis Control Program Madagascar, the Malagasy Medical Analysis Laboratory (#LA2M), representatives of Tuberculosis Diagnosis and Treatment Centers and Reference Centers for the Management of Multi-Resistant Tuberculosis (#TBMR). • In remote areas of southern Madagascar, the fight against communicable diseases like tuberculosis and HIV requires more than medication — it takes coordinated action, trust, and proximity to the communities affected. 🌍🤝 Thanks to the MirayTB project, supported by the Spindler-Stiftung and the GIZ, and implemented with the Ministry of Public Health of Madagascar, we’ve made tangible progress in 2024: 🚐 392 mobile TB clinics conducted 🧑⚕️ 810 people newly diagnosed with TB able to access care 💉 409 people tested for HIV 🔍 3,632 people screened for TB Behind every number lies a person whose health — and future — has been protected. 💚👨👩👧👦 To learn more about the way we support communities to tackle tuberculosis with frontline health workers and primary health facilities, click here 👉 https://cutt.ly/6rQ6gb5l #Tuberculosis #PublicHealth #DoctorsForMadagascar #GlobalHealth #TBFree #Madagascar #PartnershipsInAction

  • 🧬 Tuberculosis (TB) has once again become the world's deadliest infectious disease, ahead of COVID-19, even though it can be prevented and cured. 😷✅ In the Atsimo Andrefana region of Madagascar, Doctors for Madagascar has been fighting TB through the MirayTB project since 2019. 🤝🇲🇬 In 2024, through this project in partnership with the Malagasy Ministry of Public Health, we made tuberculosis treatment accessible, thanks to: 🚐 mobile clinics and 💪 capacity-building for healthcare staff at various basic health centers (CSBs). Our activities have also strengthened the care of patients co-infected with TB and HIV in hard-to-reach areas. 🧑⚕️📍 To find out more about the MirayTB project, supported by the Spindler Stiftung and the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ), and its impact on the lives of rural communities in 2024, follow this link 👉 https://cutt.ly/6rQ6gb5l

  • 🏥 At DfM, we are committed to improving health facilities in rural areas of Madagascar. 🔋 In 2024, we partnered with ANKA Madagascar to provide sustainable energy to five primary health facilities through solar energy. This has helped healthcare providers improve the quality of services in remote areas. ☀️⚕️ 🛠️ We also made qualitative healthcare services more accessible to communities in the south of the island by: 🔹 Renovating five health facilities 🔹 Building a new health center in Ampitanaka 🔹 Installing a safe medical waste disposal unit at Soanierana ♻️ 📘 Find out more about our construction project, supported by genialsozial and atmosfair gGmbH, in our Annual Report 2024 👉 https://cutt.ly/6rQ6gb5l #InfrastructureForHealth #RuralHealth #SustainableEnergy #DoctorsForMadagascar #Madagascar #PublicHealth

  • ⚡ In rural Madagascar, access to electricity can be life-saving. Through our health systems strengthening efforts, Doctors for Madagascar continues to support the electrification of remote health facilities — creating safer, more reliable environments for patients and health workers alike. 🏥💡 🌙 From night-time deliveries to emergency care, electricity means faster, better, and more dignified care for all. 📍Here, we have the testimony of our partner in Iazohambo – a rural village in the south of Madagascar – who highlights the impact of our work in 2024: 🗣️ “Thanks to the electrification of health-care facilities, medical services can now be provided in better conditions, especially at night. Permanent lighting greatly facilitates patient care, whether for deliveries, emergency care, or night-time consultations.” 📘 Discover more testimonies like this — and the numbers behind them — in our 2024 Annual Report 👉 https://cutt.ly/6rQ6gb5l #DoctorsForMadagascar #HealthSystems #Electrification #PrimaryHealthCare #SDG3 #GlobalHealth #Madagascar #HealthForAll
