As a result, he needs additional training to help overcome some of his traumas. We never put down a healthy dog. It's also #WorldHomelessDay, so what better time to spotlight our Together Through Homelessness scheme 🐶 Our TTH team offer free vet care for dog owners experiencing or at risk of homelessness and also support homelessness services to become dog friendly 💛 We know that dogs are crucial for the mental health of owners experiencing homelessness. Together Through Homelessness ensures that they can stay together during a challenging time, without the trauma and loss of having to give up their dog when facing homelessness. Thanks to your incredible support, a petition calling for mandatory licensing and regulation of dog and cat rehoming centres has now surpassed 100,000 signatures, meaning it will be debated in Parliament. This is a huge step forward in protecting animal welfare across the UK🎉 Shockingly, 79% of the public wrongly believe that rehoming centres are already licensed and inspected. The Housing (Scotland) Bill comes back for its final stages this week, meaning it's your last chance to join our campaign to improve the rights of pet-owning tenants. This Recycle Week (22-28 September) we're very grateful to our corporate partner, Pets at Home, for their generous donation of 11 benches made from recycled plastic to our rehoming centres 🤩 These benches were made using pet food pouches donated by the public through in-store recycling bins, making this a brilliant example of sustainability in action. These benches will offer a comfortable resting spot for both people and pooches at some of our centres. You can see Milo and Rachael are already enjoying their new bench at Dogs Trust Harefield 💛 Milo is one of our Underdogs and has been in our care for 359 days - could you give him his forever home?
