  • 🌍 Today is World Menopause Day, and we're helping to raise awareness, understanding, and show support for women who are navigating this stage of life. At EMSOU, we stand with our female colleagues experiencing menopause. We recognise the physical, emotional, and professional challenges it can bring, and we’re committed to creating a workplace where every woman feels seen, heard, and supported. Whether it’s through open conversations, flexible policies, or access to resources, we believe in empowering women to thrive at every stage of life. #WeAreEMSOU #MenopauseAwareness #WellbeingAtWork

  • 240 victims from the East Midlands will see justice served today, thanks to this great work by our colleagues at the South West Regional Organised Crime Unit (SWROCU) 👏🏻 Read more in the comments below:

An important day for more than 3,500 victims of fraud today, with the final three of 14 criminals sentenced at court following our six-year investigation. Our team of Economic Crime investigators, supported by the Crown Prosecution Service, worked determinedly to see justice for them – the majority of whom were aged between 60 and 90 when they were targeted. Many of the victims found themselves in debt or unable to retire due to the unscrupulous actions of a group of fraudsters headed up by Mark Rowe, who defrauded them of more than £28 million. SWROCU Senior Investigating Officer Peter Highway said: “We know how important each guilty verdict has been to the thousands of victims targeted by Mark Rowe and his staff. “Fraud cases, by their nature, are complex. When you have a case of this scale, where defendants made use of hundreds of bank accounts in multiple countries to move around millions of pounds stolen from thousands of victims, that complexity is amplified.” If you want to read more about this extraordinary case, we’ll add a link in the comments section below.

  • Last week, more than 50 of our officers and staff benefitted from a free health check. Short, ten-minute drop in sessions ran throughout the day, and saw people get their BMI and body composition readings, and blood pressure, heart rate, cholesterol and blood glucose levels tested. Together, these metrics can help identify early warning signs of chronic conditions, and help guide lifestyle changes such as diet, exercise, and stress management. From the results, we were able to signpost and offer supportive preventive care and wellbeing initiatives advice on nutrition, fitness and other health matters. We're committed to looking after our people and look forward to hosting more sessions like this in the future. Our thanks go to Leicestershire Police for facilitating this day. #WeAreEMSOU

  • This month, our Protect and Prepare teams at CTPEM have been spreading the word about ACT for Local Authorities, a new scheme run by the National Counter Terrorism Security Office (NaCTSO) to support local authorities in the protection of sites and people from terrorism. Terrorists target a wide range of people and places and it is not always possible to predict where an attack might happen. Local authorities are critical in mitigating against this threat, being these spaces are typically public land, under local authority ownership, operation or influence.   ACT for Local Authorities complements the new Terrorism (Protection of Premises) Act 2025 (known as ‘Martyn's Law’). 📚 To access resources - including toolkits and videos - to support your understanding of the terrorism risks, as well as protective security and preparedness visit ProtectUK: https://lnkd.in/eXpNfQi9 👀 Interested in joining the fight against terrorism? We form part of a national network dedicated to thwarting terrorist planning and helping to bring perpetrators to justice. • Today is World Romance Scam prevention Day. Throughout the week our Fraud protect officers have been working with Barclays UK Nottingham Building Society to raise awareness on Romance fraud and the devastating effects it has on victims. ⚠️Over £106M was lost to romance fraud last year. ℹ️ Unsure if the person you're talking with is real? Try reverse image searching their profile photos to see if they're used elsewhere online. Find out more: https://lnkd.in/enjmTrk3 📱 It often starts online, on dating apps, social media, or even gaming platforms. 💬 It’s built on emotional manipulation and false promises. 💸 It ends with victims losing thousands of pounds, and often their confidence too. 🔍 Spot the signs: They avoid meeting in person or video calls. They claim to be overseas or in a crisis. They ask for money for travel, medical emergencies, or investments. 🛡️ Protect yourself: Never send money to someone you haven’t met in person. Talk to someone you trust before making financial decisions. Report suspicious activity to Action Fraud and the platform. Let’s raise awareness and stop romance fraud before it starts. #RomanceFraud #stopthinkfraud #BeOrganisedAgainstCrime #Actionfraud
