Aleks Tomczyk has been appointed as the next Chief Executive of FinTech Scotland, joining with immediate effect to work alongside Nicola Anderson through the remainder of 2025. Aleks brings over 20 years’ technology innovation experience, including leading major fintech transformation programmes in large companies. He established one of the UK’s first corporate venturing programmes at a large technology company, advised as an independent consultant on growth and technology, and has built two technology‑led businesses in Scotland from foundation to exit. Aleks has been a FinTech Scotland board member for the past four years, is a trustee of Sailors' Children's Society, sits on the LawscotTech Advisory Board, and is a non‑executive director at Estatesearch Group. Today we announced that our Chief Executive, Nicola Anderson, will step down at year‑end to become a senior director at Scottish Enterprise focused on scaling innovation. Aleks Tomczyk is joining as Chief Executive, working alongside Nicola during the transition. Over the past five years, Nicola has led the growth of a vibrant fintech cluster and driven progress through research, innovation and collaboration. Highlights include the Financial Regulation Innovation Lab and the UK’s first FinTech Research and Innovation Strategic Roadmap – initiatives that have strengthened Scotland’s fintech ecosystem and reinforced our position in financial innovation.
