BFE Members who took up Flawless DeepEditor trial (better than the one offered to everyone on their website) were treated to a demonstration of what this technology can do. Lots of questions were asked and then answered by Rob Hall (pictured) from pricing to how? Rounding off the night was some drinks and pizza with much chat about all things editing and more!!! Thanks to the Flawless team - Rob Hall, Chief of Film Innovation (who gave the demo), Alexander Ford, Chief of Growth, Oli Gudgeon & ilan bass who were great hosts. GOOD NEWS! BFE members still have the opportunity to learn more and if you have missed this session check out the mail-outs and website for more dates with the first Monday 11th August, starting at 5pm. #Flawlessai #britishfilmeditors #colgoudie Stefania Marangoni Dicky Everton BFE

  • In TheWrap’s latest article on the impact of AI across entertainment, our co-founder Scott Mann raised a question we’re thinking about every day – what happens when the first rung of the ladder disappears? Hollywood has always relied on entry-level roles from assistants and script readers to runners. Our industry needs them not just to function, but to develop the future talent. These vital jobs don't just teach the basics, they immerse folk who are starting out, in a complex, dynamic and challenging industry – and hopefully nurture the next generation of filmmakers. But as the article makes clear, those roles are under pressure with AI tools accelerating fast. What was once a foot in the door is starting to look like a closing one. At Flawless, we don’t shy away from that shift. We believe in facing it head-on, with transparency, ethics, and above all, opportunity. As Scott said in the piece, AI might actually change what “entry-level” means. It won’t be the same. But it could be something better, more accessible, more creative. “If we do this right, we don’t lose the talent pipeline. We expand it.” That’s the future we’re building toward. Where AI doesn’t replace human stories – it makes space for more of them. To read more, check out the link in the comments.

It's encouraging to see Flawless included in the TIME100 list. Not just for the recognition, but because it signals a shift in how the industry might start thinking about AI; not as a shortcut, but as a tool that supports craft, performance, and global storytelling. Excited to see where things might go from here...

GenAI | serial intrapreneur | Swiss Army knife

Last week I joined TheWrap's media and entertainment podcast alongside NVIDIA, Flawless, Moonvalley, and the creative/film community to have an honest talk about how AI is showing up responsibly in film and TV—not as a clickbait meme of cats on diving boards, but as a practical tool being used behind the scenes. What stood out was how much we agreed: 1) This isn’t about replacing storytellers, it’s about supporting & amplifying great craft and narratives. 2) We need to shift from broad-sweeping AI generalizations to specific use cases that are actually helping filmmakers and creators (show me the ROI money!) 3) Tools that respect rights are even more powerful in allowing more unique stories to be told We covered a lot of ground —from rethinking workflows to making post-production faster and the “virtual room” got heated when we discussed ethical standards and proper training data. I also shared Adobe’s approach to responsible innovation—training Firefly on licensed content and keeping human ingenuity at the center of the creative process. One of my favorite comments came from screenwriter Van Robichaux, who said Adobe’s early stance on creator rights helped others in the industry like Moonvalley and Flawless make their case for building responsible AI businesses. We need more of this kind of industry collab. Grateful to the team at TheWrap for making space for this discussion. If you missed it, the replay is 👇in comments. Follow along for continued dialog on accelerating high-quality storytelling and craft.

Flawless built our assistive AI-powered #DeepEditor for the moments when stories shift, but the schedule doesn’t. You can transfer performances, adjust tone, or localize dialogue without losing any original artistic authenticity. And... you never have to return to set. It fits into the tools you already use and solves problems that usually require a reshoot, or a miracle. Try it out today: FlawlessAI.com/Product

"He's like the media world’s favorite professor—equal parts mentor, provocateur, and storyteller."

One of our favorite episodes of Sabio's #FridayFireside welcomes Scott Mann, co-founder and CEO of Flawless. I apologize for being such a Fanboy (no I don’t…). Scott screened the Swedish sci-fi film, “Watch the Skies,” with his AI-powered dubbing at Cannes the day after we recorded this show. You will be astonished when you hear how Scott used AI to not only DUB the language (using the original actors) but also MODIFY the video so that the actors’ mouth movements matched the English dubbing, all while keeping the original context and emotion of each scene. And here’s the best part for the entertainment business: the film was produced and originally distributed in 2022. That means the film was already in the can and Flawless did their work three years later!!! https://lnkd.in/e5xqmgpm

  • Another huge moment for us — Watch the Skies had its UK premiere last night! ✨ We’re setting a new industry standard for dubbing — where performance, emotion, and authenticity are preserved across languages. This is no longer the future of cinema. This is happening now. Huge thanks to everyone who joined us — with special appreciation for Albin Pettersson from Crazy Pictures; cast members Jesper Barkselius and Niklas Kvarnbo Jönsson; the teams at Signature Entertainment UK and Showcase Cinemas; and, of course, our incredible people at Flawless.
