Our work at IGN brings both challenges and successes—often together. In #Madagascar, IGN's advocacy has brought iodized salt to 13.8 million people. Yet 20% of salt still isn't iodized, and iodine deficiency persists, including among pregnant women. When USAID program cancellations threatened critical training, the #RapidResponseFund from The Life You Can Save and Founders Pledge, enabled us to step in with UNICEF and successfully retrain government staff and salt producers. Challenges continue: political unrest and rising potassium iodate costs. We're addressing cost barriers through a revolving fund for sustainable, centralized procurement with support from the Japan Industries Association. The work continues. 💧 𝗪𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝗰𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗴𝗹𝗼𝗯𝗮𝗹 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗺𝘀 𝗳𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝘀𝘂𝗱𝗱𝗲𝗻 𝗳𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗴𝗮𝗽𝘀, 𝗳𝗹𝗲𝘅𝗶𝗯𝗹𝗲, 𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲𝗹𝘆 𝗽𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗼𝗽𝘆 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝗺𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗱𝗶𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲.
