Our first Open Week is coming to a close and what a brilliant week we've had! Our mission was to bring a number of new people from digital and tech businesses into our fabulous coworking space so they could experience it for themselves, to see what we have to offer. Our visitors have been able to participant in our Coffee & Doughnuts Social, the Wednesday Wellbeing Walk and great Thursday Tech Lunch, but more than that, they've been able to see first hand why the hub makes such good sense as a place to work out of, start up and scale a business, network and also - to have fun! We've already had some super feedback and would like to thank everyone that's attended and supported us in spreading the word. We love bringing together interesting ideas and minds from across our digital and tech community. Yesterday we hosted our latest Tech Lunch, presented by Chris Lowerson, the Partnership Development Manager for the School of Computing and Comms from Lancaster University. Chris described his work around Knowledge Exchange and the process and benefits of placing Computer Science students with local businesses for a 10 week internship. It's a win-win! Businesses get: 💡 Fresh perspectives and ideas 🚀 Highly skilled talent ⚡ Access to emerging technologies 👩💻 Company Specific research and development And the students get real world experience and a wealth of new connections and possibilities. I had the absolute pleasure of meeting Helen Parkinson - Organise Me from Organise Me today at the brilliant Fraser House Hub✨ . Organise Me isn’t just about virtual assistance ... it’s about helping busy business owners get back in control, combining done-for-you admin with the accountability and structure we all need to stay on track. . Helen will also be part of the Neuroinclusive Health Hub I’m working to establish here in Lancaster 💡 The vision is to create a wraparound service ... bringing together professionals with expertise and lived experience of neurodivergence, alongside those like Helen who have spent years supporting neurodivergent people. Together, we aim to ensure that people can access the right support at every stage of life, all under one roof. . It was wonderful to share ideas about how this Hub can truly make a difference, and how collaboration like this is what will make it thrive. I’m so excited to be working alongside Helen and others to bring a much-needed service to Lancaster 💚 .
