Campaigns like Capital Breakfast’s 'Feel Yourself Friday' are an excellent example of how we're better together - multiple teams across the business working towards a shared, impactful vision. ‘Feel Yourself Friday’ follows the Breakfast show’s successful ‘Balls to Monday’ awareness campaign in March after presenter Chris Stark was diagnosed with testicular cancer. On National Mammography Day - Friday 17th October - Capital Breakfast encouraged people to check their breasts and chests, welcoming women's health expert Nighat Arif onto the show to answer listener questions and guide Siân Welby through a self-examination. The team also received a video message from singer Jessie J who moved the Capital's Summertime Ball audience to tears back in June when she spoke of her own diagnosis. In the lead up to Friday - which falls within Breast Cancer Awareness Month - Globallers and loved ones courageously appeared on Capital Breakfast to share their experiences of breast cancer, which you can watch back on Global Player. In true Capital Breakfast spirit, the team wanted to share this life-saving skill with colleagues, too. The day started with a visit from CoppaFeel!'s Boobmobile to offer advice and raise awareness. Booths were installed at broadcast centres so Globallers could check themselves with guidance from CoppaFeel!, plus there were resources and goodies to takeaway. The initiative was supported by Global’s Accessibility employee network whose members appeared on Capital Breakfast and wrote powerful pieces for our internal comms platforms. They also shared tasty treats on the day that were adorned with cherries to get people talking, smiling, and most importantly, heading to the booths for a check! Thank you to all Globallers involved, the people who so generously opened up about their experiences, CoppaFeel!, and our special guests Nighat Arif and Jessie J. #Global | #CapitalBreakfast | #BreastCancerAwarenessMonth | #HealthandWellbeing | #Radio | #EmployeeNetwork

We've partnered with Audio Always to offer listeners early access to the hit comedy podcast 'Help I Sexted My Boss'. 'Sexted', which is hosted by Capital Breakfast presenter Jordan North and etiquette expert William Hanson, will be available exclusively on Global Player 24 hours before other platforms. The award-winning podcast has amassed more than 100 million listens since launch and has just announced an arena tour for March 2026. The partnership will align 'Sexted' with Jordan's Capital Breakfast show, and includes cross promotion across the podcast, on-air, and digital outdoor across the UK. Stuart Morgan, Founder and Managing Director at Audio Always said: "We are really excited to be uniting Sexted with Global's network, and offering listeners the chance to hear the podcast first. We love that this partnership brings together radio, podcasts, Global Player and wider cross-media channels to promote brilliant audio on a brilliant platform." With a refreshed new look and the same life-changing mission, Global's Make Some Noise Day 2025 has been a roaring success! On our twelfth appeal day, we’ve raised a record-breaking £4,814,808 to support life-changing projects across the UK. We've loved seeing your loud outfits - an annual tradition - with everyone going all-out to raise awareness for our amazing charity. From catwalks to karaoke, polaroids to pancakes, we’ve loved all the creative ways Globallers have fundraised in our broadcast centres and warehouses, too. Across the week, a number of presenters have taken on challenges of their own. For Heart’s Herculean Challenge, Amanda Holden, Jamie Theakston, Ashley Roberts, and Pandora Christie faced extremes - abseiling down 170 metres, lying with snakes, being suspended 20 storeys high in a crane, and treading the West End boards in Disney’s Hercules. Up in Scotland, ‘Grado’s Granite to Glasgow’ Challenge saw the Breakfast presenter handcycle over 400 kilometres -from Aberdeen to Glasgow. Like Grado, Capital Weekender host Kem Cetinay also took on an exhausting physical endurance challenge, playing padel for 24 hours! Every day, Global's Make Some Noise funds and champions projects delivered by small charities across the UK that are lifelines in their communities - whether they’re supporting families facing a life-limiting illness, someone struggling with their mental health, escaping domestic abuse, or trying to make ends meet. The record total raised today is vital. We really appreciate everyone who has contributed in some way. We also want to thank our headline sponsor Furniture Village, plus Disney’s Hercules, PureGym and Digby Brown Solicitors who have also supported this year’s appeal, sponsoring presenter challenges. Finding bits of glitter in our bags until the next appeal day in 2026 will be totally worth it! 😅💓 #Global | #MakeSomeNoise | #Charity | #Fundraising | #Fundraiser
