  • Twenty years ago a group of cancer experts had a vision. They wanted to provide cancer care that was both world-class and genuinely personal. Today, that vision has grown into the Leaders in Oncology Care (LOC) network, providing truly personalised cancer care to patients across London, Manchester and Birmingham. “We decided to start and set up the LOC 20 years ago with the intention of providing, firstly the best quality cancer care available anywhere in the world, but also to focus intensely on the patient experience. Over the past 20 years, the treatment of cancer has improved dramatically, but the actual way people are cared for in the LOC has changed very little. The initial philosophy has been maintained throughout, and we are very grateful for that.” – Dr Maurice Slevin, Consultant Medical Oncologist and Co-founder of the LOC. 📽️ Watch our video to hear from our team of experts on how LOC has delivered exceptional cancer care for over two decades, while never losing sight of what matters most – our patients. 🔗 https://lnkd.in/eR-Ev2Pz

  • This year marks a special milestone as we celebrate 20 years of Leaders in Oncology Care (LOC). LOC was founded two decades ago by four oncologists who set up The LOC with the intention of providing the best quality cancer care available anywhere in the world, in an environment where patients and their families feel safe, supported and genuinely cared for; a practice that is now the gold standard in cancer care. Since partnering with HCA Healthcare UK, LOC has expanded to become a network of seven centres in London, Manchester and Birmingham. Whilst the treatment we provide has progressed dramatically over the last 20 years, the founding vision to provide truly personalised care, that puts patients at the heart of every decision, remains the same. John Reay, President & CEO of HCA Healthcare UK says: “I feel very proud of LOC’s role in setting the standard for specialist oncology services in the private sector. Since 2005, LOC has built an exceptional reputation for its multidisciplinary approach and patient-centred ethos. As part of HCA Healthcare UK, our LOC sites continue to play a vital role in delivering world-leading care and advancing cancer treatment for the future.” A huge thank you to our incredible teams. This level of exceptional care is made possible by your dedication to go above and beyond, supporting patients and their loved ones as they navigate the challenges of a cancer diagnosis and treatment. Find out more about this momentous milestone here: https://lnkd.in/edBHgD5q 👀 Stay tuned – over the next few weeks we’ll be hearing from our Consultants and the wider clinical team, as we share more about Leaders in Oncology Care and the progress we’ve made over the last 20 years. 📸 Front right, Will Pressley, CEO at Leaders in Oncology Care, along with some of our incredible colleagues.
