With one in four adults currently living with #obesity - which significantly increases the risk of type 2 #diabetes, heart disease and #stroke - it’s paramount that #healthcare is effective. The cost far exceeds financial implications. Living with obesity can affect quality of life, and have wide-reaching implications relating to mental health, employment and many other issues. If care better meets the needs of patients, it is more likely to be successful, leading to a healthier, happier nation – and that’s where HQIP’s patient advocates come in… Thanks to Aurora – and others like her from the Healthcare Quality Improvement Partnership (HQIP)'s User Panel – the NHS is able to tailor its obesity prevention programme (including the use of ‘weight loss injections’): “It’s great to know that service design will better reflect patient priorities”.
