📈 How do you deal with your choices of “Scaling, Selling or Stepping Back" in an uncertain economic climate? 🍽 Last week's lunch with Meera Shah of Buzzacott Corporate Finance gave Helm members fantastic insight into the realities founders are facing today, from navigating volatility and capital constraints, to knowing when (and how) to take the next step in their journey. These Roundtables are vital for the kind of exchange that only happens when founders speak candidly, surrounded by peers who truly get it. A huge thank you also to Divyang Mistry, exited founder at Leesman, who was able to share his story and journey to exit navigating the M&A world. #founders #scaleups #entrepreneurship #leadership #businessgrowth

👏👏 Well done Freddie on a brilliant effort 🚴♀️ 400 miles and great to see such a big turnout from Helm members on the Ride25 Ltd!
This was far more challenging than I imagined! Cycling over 400 miles from Milan to Rome was an epic adventure through mountain climbs, ancient villages, and endless plates of pasta. 🇮🇹🚴♂️ I've done a fair bit of cycling, but never to the level of Ride 25. Climbing over 7000m in 5 consecutive days is a challenge for anyone, and I have so much respect for the 85 riders who completed this journey with me. Most importantly, Ride25 Ltd brings together founders for a common cause in raising much needed funds for 1moreChild. So far we have raised over £160k this year and looking to get to £260k to take us over £2million raised over the last 12 years. There is still a chance to donate if you’d like to support: https://lnkd.in/eHnKTUcZ I was very happy to represent Helm, a proud sponsor of Ride 25. As a charity cycle specifically for founders, we couldn't be better placed to support. Great to see so many Helm Members on the trip, both past and present and meet a brilliant group of people with a common interest. Edward Simpson Ben Stocken Bill Updegraff David Gormer Mark Colquhoun Tobi Schneidler Daniel Pitchford Jamie Matthews Jamie Hamer Anthony Villis Paul Swinton Stephen Sacks Thanks to all those who were involved in making this happen, especially to John Readman 🚴♂️ 🎙💻 and Rob Hamilton. Looking forward to next year!! #founders #charityfundraising #scaling #MAKEITCOUNT

Helm reposted this
When I started out, entrepreneurship was far less celebrated than it is today. There were no podcasts, no playbooks, no LinkedIn communities. You were expected to figure it out on your own, and that could feel incredibly lonely. That experience shaped how I see entrepreneurship today. It's also what inspires me most about Helm - a space where founders and CEOs can speak honestly, share what’s really going on, and support each other through the ups and downs of scaling. No consultants. No selling. Just genuine conversations between people who’ve been there too. That’s what keeps Helm so special after more than two decades: depth over breadth, trust over transaction, candour over performance. As the CEO at Helm, I spoke about all of this — and the future of founder networks — in a recent feature with The Executive Magazine. It’s an honour to see Helm recognised for what we stand for: building resilient, responsible businesses through peer connection and shared experience. If you’d like to read the full piece, I’ve shared the images below. And to every founder who’s ever opened up about the real journey — thank you. You’re what makes this community what it is. A special mention to Duncan Cheatle, the founder of Helm (formerly The Supper Club) for having the vision and persistence to protect the values of the Club over the last 22 years. #Founders #Leadership #Entrepreneurship #HelmClub #PeerSupport #BusinessGrowth #scaleups 💡 If you’re a founder scaling a business and this resonates, you can learn more about what we do at www.helmclub.co ✨

Uncorked at Helm 🍷 What happens when you put a room full of founders in front of six mystery wines? Chaos. Laughter. Bold guesses. And a surprising amount of bragging rights. Last week at Smith & Wollensky, Helm members went head-to-head in a blind wine tasting challenge led by Iain Scott of Cork Explorers. The twist? Founders approached it the same way they approach business: ⚡ Trusting their instincts ⚡ Backing bold bets ⚡ Rallying as a team Turns out, spotting a Pinot in disguise is just as competitive as pitching a startup. From unexpected discoveries to a table that claimed victory (and won’t let anyone forget it), it was an evening that proved Helm is as much about enjoying the journey as scaling the venture. Because at Helm, we don’t just focus on scaling; we also pay attention to personal growth ✨ Curious about the kind of founders who get a seat at the table? www.helmclub.co

For over two decades, Helm has set the standard as 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐔𝐊’𝐬 𝐦𝐨𝐬𝐭 𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐡𝐞𝐝 𝐟𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫 𝐧𝐞𝐭𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤 — built on depth over breadth, and a strict 𝒏𝒐 𝒔𝒂𝒍𝒆𝒔 and 𝒈𝒊𝒗𝒆 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒈𝒆𝒕 ethos. This recognition reinforces what we’ve always believed: true exclusivity and trust create the best outcomes for scaling entrepreneurs. Thank you to The Executive Magazine for spotlighting our journey ✨ #founders, #scaleups #entrepreneurs #business

☕️ Croissants, coffee, and conversations you can’t Google. Last week we brought together a small circle of retail & consumer founders for a breakfast that was as real as it gets. No slides, no pitches - just open dialogue on what it really takes to scale physical products today. The breakfast was expertly facilitated by member Claire Watkin, fourth-generation leader of The Fine Bedding Company | B Corp™ (supplying names like M&S, John Lewis, The White Company). The real magic was around the table: 👉 How to optimise Meta ads when costs keep climbing 👉 The highs and lows of rebranding - when it’s a bold reset vs. an expensive distraction 👉 The messy art of distribution: balancing D2C with wholesale and retail partners 🙏 Huge thanks to Claire and to every founder who came ready to share openly about scaling their consumer brands. These breakfasts remind us why community matters, because the best strategies aren’t found in playbooks, but in conversations like this. 💬 Founders - if you could add one more topic to the table, what would it be: funding, international growth, or something else entirely? #Founders #Scaleup

Investment Day at Helm isn’t a demo day. It’s a pressure-test. Founders step into the room with exited founders turned angels, not to perform but to refine, sharpen, and accelerate their raise. What stood out this time? 💡 Be crystal clear on what makes your model unique and hard to copy. If there’s no IP, explain your moat: distribution, partnerships, data, or speed of execution. 💡Rehearse answers to obvious investor scepticism: buyer appetite, scalability, regulatory risks, and product-market fit. Bring evidence (even samples or pilot results) to back it up. If you’re raising, this is your shot to step into the most founder-friendly room in London. Apply here: https://lnkd.in/e8T5sfgE Deadline: 14th November Pitch Day: 2nd December #investmentday #scaleup #pitching #angelinvestor #fundraising

The most valuable conversations don’t happen on stage — they happen around the table. Last night’s dinner with Roger Lee of Cavendish was one of those moments where you’re reminded why being in the right room really matters. Over 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘍𝘶𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘦 𝘢𝘵 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘛𝘢𝘣𝘭𝘦, we explored the upcoming budget, the shifting economic climate, and the scenarios shaping the future for founders and business leaders. The conversation was frank, challenging, and at times surprising — the kind of dialogue that can only happen when you bring sharp minds together in a trusted environment. A big thank you to Peter Gray, Andrew Jeffs, and our Helm members who made this another unforgettable evening. The dinner was chaired by our CEO, Andreas Adamides. Not every conversation makes it onto LinkedIn… but the ones that do often start at tables like these. #founders #scaleups #entrepreneurship
