Hypermotive launch a range of EMC palliative filters H:FILTER for EVs! Electrical systems experts Hypermotive are excited to unveil H:FILTER – a family of Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) palliative solutions for EVs - designed in conjunction with the EMC compliance experts Applus+ 3C Test. H:FILTER will be launched at the Engineering Design Show (EDS) in Coventry 8th - 9th October on the Applus+ 3C Test. stand M19. H:FILTER is a range of configurable filter units designed to help engineers meet Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) requirements when integrating EV charging systems. The flexible but compact designs mean that H:FILTER can easily be tuned to supress specific problematic frequencies and resolve late-stage EMC/EMI compliance issues when testing to UN ECE Reg 10. Conscious that rapid development and vehicle packaging are typically critical in integrating late-programme palliative solutions, the housings and the filter characteristics have been specifically designed to be easily fine-tuned to suit the applications’ performance and packaging requirements. Three variants of H:FILTER are available: • 230VAC 16A Single-Phase • 230VAC 32A Single-Phase • 415VAC 32A Three-Phase H:FILTER has been developed to automotive standards for environmental and mechanical performance to ISO16750, uses AECQ-qualified components and can be supplied at volume to automotive PPAP quality. Hypermotive are an established manufacturer of EMC filters, PDUs, DC-DC and other electrical systems to customers in automotive, marine, aerospace, rail, defence, clean power generation and other sectors. Come along to the Engineering Design Show (EDS) to learn more and see the products, or contact us at [email protected] for more information #EMC #EMI #Electromagnetic #Electricvehicle #Reg10

Whilst Jonathan Brown is enjoying his comfy chair, you will find other members of the Hypermotive team wearing out their shoe leather (or rubber if they take the more relaxed option) next week at Cenex Expo. They'll be catching up with customers, creating new networks and exploring the latest technologies and innovators. If you'd like to speak to our team at the event, drop us a message in the comments below or contact us directly. Our CEO Adam Huckstep, CTO Jeremy Bowman and CCO Brad O'Nians will be on site amongst others. We're looking forward to seeing you there 😊.
Next week I'll be enjoying he sunny (hopefully!) delights of Bedfordshire's UTAC prooving ground once again for the annual Cenex Expo. This time you might even catch sight of me on a stage, talking about things. I'll be joining some excellent fellow panelists, trying not to bring the tone down too much, where we will be discussing all things adjacent sectors in a session titled "From Automotive to Everywhere: Cross Sector Technology Transfer". Sharing and adapting technologies developed by those with the deepest pockets and greatest need is going to be essential if we are to match the timing needed for climate change. However, it's not always as easy as first may seem. I'll share some tales from our experiences at Hypermotive pioneering these new pathways. If you're feeling tired by the end of the day, then a comfy chair and some engaging conversation could be just the thing! Do join me, our panel chair Bethan Smith and panelists Martin Freer, Phil Ward and Nick Fleming from 4:00pm on Wednesday 3rd Sept in the Vehicle Engineering Zone. #innovation #lowemission #futuremobility

Hypermotive catapulted into manufacturing scale-up! Hypermotive (HM) are delighted to announce the award of a place on the start-up to scale-up pilot programme. The programme offers packages of support from The High Value Manufacturing Catapult centres for UK automotive innovators, helping them create solid production scale-up plans, reducing risk and investment. As part of the pilot programme Hypermotive has secured up to £200,000 of funded support to help them scale up their manufacturing capability and capacity. The programme provides Hypermotive with access to the MTC - Manufacturing Technology Centre team of manufacturing experts and their world-class tools, processes and facilities. The focus of the programme is to support Hypermotive’s growth and scale-up in the manufacturing of advanced high voltage power electronics (DC-DC) and power distribution (PDU). Hypermotive will be accessing support from MTC to improve production planning, design for manufacture and assembly (DFM/DFA), process development, QA/QC, supply chain development, and upskilling of the manufacturing team. MTC is also helping Hypermotive with scenario planning, facility layout and capital investment decisions to accelerate Hypermotive plans for manufacturing facilities and capacity expansion. The six month programme coincides with Hypermotive ramping production volumes on a number of automotive tier 1 manufacturing programmes for high-performance PDU and DC-DC products plus the launch into production of their own fuel cell integration products including H-Store® (hydrogen systems controller), H-Interface® (fuel cell systems interface) and H-Filter® (Single and three-phase EMC filter). The programme will strengthen the UK’s electrification supply chain and reinforce Hypermotive’s position as the go-to tier 1 for e-mobility sectors and help deliver electrification and hydrogen integration and power system technologies at the forefront of technology. Notes to editors Established and supported by Innovate UK, HVM Catapult is a strategic research and innovation hub for industry, commercialising the UK’s most advanced manufacturing ideas. Through its six centres of industrial innovation, HVM Catapult provides access to world-class research, development facilities and expertise that would otherwise be out of reach for many businesses in the UK. HVM Catapult’s centres are the University of Sheffield Advanced Manufacturing Centre (AMRC), CPI, Manufacturing Technology Centre (MTC), National Manufacturing Institute Scotland (NMIS), NCC and Warwick Manufacturing Group (WMG) #manufacturing #scaleup #innovation #electrical #mtc #hvmcatapult

Thank you Mr. Starmer… Hypermotive are proud (and pleasantly surprised) to have had our engineering featured in the UK Government’s Advanced Manufacturing Sector Plan, published last week. If you haven’t read the report you can find it here: https://lnkd.in/e2__kxt7 If you look very closely on p32 you can just make out our Hypermotive logo on the roll-hoop of the autonomous vehicle. Although we’re well known for our electrical and hydrogen systems engineering and manufacturing, it's a lesser known fact that we are also very competent autonomous and by-wire systems installers. Our work with partners and suppliers such as Nvidia, Luminar, Level Five Supplies, Dataspeed, Sygnal and others has until now been very much 'under the radar'... The Formula Student Connected Autonomous Vehicle featured in the report was the first of dozens of autonomous vehicle platforms that Hypermotive have built for customers across the UK, Germany and France. Our skilled vehicle technicians and engineers have installed proprietary drive-by-wire systems, LiDAR, radar, camera arrays, proximity sensing, compute systems, and auxiliary battery power systems to a wide range of ICE, hybrid and electric vehicles - from light commercial vehicles to racing cars. The auxiliary power, wiring and connectivity is designed, supplied and fitted by our in-house electrical engineering and manufacturing divisions, leaving our customers with a solid vehicle platform on which to develop their self-driving stack. Those customers include autonomous vehicle software developers, universities, R&D teams, and those developing the next generation of sensing and compute technologies. We’re currently commissioning a Kia Niro (or should that be Keir Niro?) EV for autonomous research at a leading British university - so if you’re planning to build an autonomous vehicle platform, speak to us first.
