💔 Preventable child deaths from window falls – urgent action needed New data from the National Child Mortality Database (NCMD) reveals that since 2019, 13 children under 11 in England have died after falling from windows in rented or temporary housing. Most of these homes had no working window locks or restrictors – even when families had raised concerns. NCMD findings: 44% of deaths were in the most deprived areas 92% lacked effective safety measures Many incidents occurred in social housing or overcrowded rentals We can stop this.  🏠 Landlords & local authorities must install and maintain window safety devices  👩⚕️ Professionals should check housing safety during visits  📢 Raise awareness so no child dies from a preventable fall Small changes save lives.
