The lead authority in industrial rope access.

About us

www.irata.org This is the Official IRATA International LinkedIn Page. IRATA is the sole global trade association in the industrial rope access sector. IRATA International’s rope access system is a safe method of working at height where ropes and associated equipment are used to gain access to and from the work place, and to be supported there. The primary objective when using rope access methods is to plan, manage and carry out the work with minimal accidents, incidents or dangerous occurrences, i.e. to ensure a safe system of work is maintained at all times, and with no damage to property or harm to the environment. IRATA International has in place a continuously evolving regime of work procedures that members are required to follow and which are monitored for compliance to ensure that a safe system of work is established and maintained. This sets IRATA International member companies apart from rope access companies that are not subject to such a rigorous scheme. Like any other method of working at height, the application of rope access should be regarded as a complete system, in which planning, management, competence and suitable equipment should be treated with equal importance, as each is dependent on the others to ensure a safe system of work. CEO | Director at IRATA International

ITEC 2025 in Aberdeen was a milestone moment for me personally and professionally. I was both incredibly pleased and proud to celebrate my 10 year anniversary with IRATA, in the very city, where my journey with this association first began. Standing in front of such a remarkable audience, I had the privilege of reflecting on how far we’ve come in the past decade, not just as an association, but as a community united by shared standards, values, and a relentless commitment to safety and excellence. This year’s ITEC marked our largest turnout to date, with delegates travelling from across the globe to be part of the conversation. The energy was inspiring, and it reaffirmed what makes IRATA so unique: our ability to bring together people from every corner of the world to collaborate, learn, to keep our industry safe and at the forefront of work at height. I am truly grateful to be part of this enduring and extraordinary community, and I look forward with great excitement to the next chapter of our journey. The future holds so much potential, and together, I know we will continue to raise the bar.

    • ITEC 2 Days To go
  • We are just 5 days away from ITEC 2025, and excited to introduce something completely new this year - The ITEC 2025 Hidden Hazard Challenge. We've added a fun interactive element that combines learning with a bit of friendly competition. Several of our exhibitors will have deliberately placed a "hazard" or mistake somewhere on their stand during the event (October 1-2), and your challenge is to spot them all. This isn't just about fun (though we hope you'll enjoy it!), it’s designed to sharpen your hazard identification skills in a practical setting while encouraging meaningful interaction with our exhibitors and reinforcing the importance of workplace safety. One lucky winner will be drawn randomly from all correct entries and announced at the end of the event. See you at ITEC 2025.
