We’re often asked how an online service like Qwell supports people experiencing mental health issues. Erika’s journey shows how easy access to support can: - Help (often underserved) people in-the-moment - Decrease pressure on other services - Support people to build lifelong skills for mental health and resilience See our latest blog showing how our digital service for adults is helping people like Erika and decreasing pressure on NHS services: https://lnkd.in/eY5xgcpC #mentalhealth #qwell #mentalhealthsupport #story

Kooth Digital Health reposted this
Last week, California's Governor signed a landmark bill, SB243, designed to put guardrails around AI companion chatbots. This is an issue that is close to my heart. At Kooth, we've always been real advocates for the power of technology to break down barriers to good mental health and critically deliver reach and consequently more impact - making care available earlier, more accessible engaging and equitable. AI is no exception. I believe that deployed with safety and clinical rigour baked in from the outset, AI can - and will - be transformative in a multitude of ways by which we support people to build the skills they need to tackle life's challenges and manage episodes of despair. But we've seen how quickly public trust in tech can erode when safety doesn't come first - so the recent findings that suggest that AI companions and chatbots are already causing real harm, has been a significant concern for us. One of the first questions that young people ask our practitioners is 'are you real?'. My new blog reflects on the new legislation and what it means for California's youth, how regulation to shape safe online spaces rub up against regulations to protect our health in sometimes unexpected ways - and what we can do about it. https://lnkd.in/e2nEqHsw

Our mission is to make it easy to access help in the moment, often helping young people learn skills they can carry with them throughout life. This World Mental Health Day, in partnership with The Diana Award, we’re focusing on a simple but effective idea: create your own ‘emotional first aid kit.’ A physical first aid kit helps with cuts and scrapes; an emotional one can give you tools to calm your mind and manage stress when things get tough. #WorldMentalHealthDay #MentalHealth #WMHD2025 https://lnkd.in/eZrznT8G

Powerful words from our CEO, Kate Newhouse, on this World Mental Health Day ⬇️ #WorldMentalHealthDay #MentalHealth #WMHD2025
CEO of Kooth, NED at European Dental Group, Digital Health Angel Investor. Lead and support organisations to achieve better population health through delivering digital healthcare globally.
We talk a lot about access to mental health support — but what do we really mean by it? This World Mental Health Day, we’re reflecting on what true access really looks like — and why digital, professionally guided care is critical to bridging the gap. As awareness around mental health rises, we’re seeing new challenges emerge: blurred lines between distress and diagnosis, and young people turning to unregulated sources for help. This year the theme focuses on access - and particularly in times of catastrophe. In a time where advances in digital technology are under greater scrutiny than ever, this was a helpful reminder for me that the promise of digital - to break down barriers, connect us, and widen access to essential information and support - can still be harnessed for good. In our own services this year, we’ve been able to rapidly scale up access to professional support in the wake of the LA wildfires, ensuring California’s youth could access trusted care and on-the-ground resources, in minutes not hours. But we’re increasingly seeing that access alone - without strong networks into real life communities, safeguards, or governance - can do more harm than good. My article today explores what this means on World Mental Health day - and what we can do about it. Read more here https://lnkd.in/ekXYBKFf

Each year, on World Suicide Prevention Day, many of us share posts to show support or share our experiences. The way we talk about suicide on LinkedIn - or anywhere - really matters. The words and images we use can either offer hope and support or unintentionally cause harm to those who may be struggling. That’s why we’ve put together some simple tips to keep in mind before you post. You’ll find them below. #worldsuicidepreventionday #awareness #mentalhealth #conversations

We’re so proud of Kooth’s Tom Mills, who took on the Great North Run to raise money for The Little Push 4 Good, a fantastic charity helping people improve their mental wellbeing through physical and creative activities. Tom’s determination paid off, raising an incredible £500 in support of the charity’s mission 👏. We recently announced a new two-year collaboration with The Little Push 4 Good, which sees us helping the charity to support adults referred through NHS Talking Therapy services. Well done, Tom. What an achievement, and what a brilliant way to support the work of The Little Push 4 Good. 💙 Tom’s Just Giving page is still open for donations, which you can find here: https://lnkd.in/esMJ6QZ9 #charity #donations #mentalhealth #littlepush4good #justgiving
