Earlier this month, we hosted our inaugural Neo4j Centre of Excellence (CoE) event at our London office, which was a fantastic step forward in upskilling our consultants in the power of graph technology and fostering new communities. The session was expertly led by Kristof Neys, who delivered an engaging and fast-paced introduction to Graph Machine Learning and GenAI use cases, including a live demo on supply chain optimisation and GraphRAG. It sparked a huge amount of curiosity and creativity, with many consultants already exploring their own use cases. Big thanks to Mckenzie Howells for hosting, and to Kristof for taking time out of his busy schedule to share his expertise. This week I was fortunate to attend the AI Pathfinder briefing and it’s clear the AI conversation in Private Equity has moved on. Over the past 6–12 months, we’ve seen a major shift. Boards and senior teams are no longer sceptical or pushing back, they want to be data-led. The urgency is real: margin expansion is no longer optional, and integrating AI is becoming critical to unlocking value beyond just revenue growth. But ambition alone isn’t enough. Too many projects stall because the aspiration is too high from the start. The message was clear: start small, test, and iterate. Build momentum with quick wins. AI literacy and training across portfolio teams will be a key driver of value creation. And perhaps most importantly, the real magic, and the competitive advantage lies in proprietary data. That’s where true value is built. A thought-provoking session on what it takes to deploy AI well in today’s market. Thanks to Steve Budd for a great event and to the wonderful speakers Hannah A. I had the honour of presenting Kubrick Group’s Florence Williams with the Emerging Talent Award at the 3rd News UK Tech Awards. Based on the feedback and recognition from colleagues, this award is truly well-deserved. I felt genuinely privileged to be invited to present it. What also stood out to me was the incredible depth of talent within News UK and the impressive pace of change and positive transformation they have driven through the organisation. It may not be obviously apparent to readers and subscribers, but the changes have made NewsUK an even better organisation and resilient. As NewsUK CEO Rebekah Brookes highlighted; this talented team of people are increasingly vital over the coming years to drive NewsUK onto greater success.
