Year 10 students have been engaging in workshops today for Restart a Heart Day - a worldwide initiative led by the Resuscitation Council, British Heart Foundation, St John’s Ambulance, British Red Cross and ambulance services across the UK. Thank you to Jacqui and Graham, Community First Responders with South Central Ambulance Service, who have been equipping our students with the life saving skills and confidence needed to deliver chest compressions and how to use a defibrillator. Lift New Forest Shines Bright for Mental Health Awareness with #HelloYellow 💛 Last week, our amazing school community came together to support @YoungMindsUK’s nationwide #HelloYellow campaign — raising awareness of the importance of mental health and emotional wellbeing among young people. On Friday 10th October, pupils and staff brightened up the day by adding a splash of yellow to their outfits — from socks and ribbons to sunny badges and t-shirts — all to show solidarity and raise vital funds for Young Minds, a leading UK charity supporting children’s mental health. A big thank you to everyone who took part, dressed up, and donated. Together, we helped shine a light on the message that mental health matters — and it’s always okay to ask for help.

Thursday 16th October is "Restart a Heart" day - a day to raise awareness about the importance of early CPR and defibrillation. We are welcoming South Central Ambulance Service into school to run CPR sessions with our Year 10 students throughout the day. The sessions will raise awareness of cardiac arrest and support the students to learn CPR, giving them the skills and confidence needed to save a life. #restartaheart #PSHE

We are looking forward to our school highlighting the importance of mental health tomorrow, Friday 10th October, by supporting Young Minds and their #HelloYellow campaign. Just to confirm, the criteria for the day are: Pupils and staff are encouraged to wear something yellow to show their support. A £1 donation is suggested via ParentPay, with all proceeds going directly to Young Minds. Please note: no full yellow outfits – this is about adding a touch of yellow to school uniform. Students can take part by: Swapping their usual blazer and tie for a yellow t-shirt, or Adding yellow accessories to their uniform – this could be a scarf, ribbon, badge, socks, or anything else that adds a sunny touch!
