#SEO is evolving. Rankings still matter, but the bigger game is how conversations, culture, and #AI shape visibility across languages. Brands that adapt their content to this new reality will win. The fundamentals remain, but the scope is broader. 👉Explore our take on #multilingual GEO in the age of #LLMs. 🗞️Full article by Lorraine van den Biggelaar on Locaria’s site: https://lnkd.in/dS6gu4hw

Google has reminded the internet who’s really in charge. Google has removed the &num=100 parameter from search URLs, meaning you can no longer view 100 results on a single page. The default max is now 10. Some corners of LinkedIn are calling this an AI apocalypse, claiming LLMs have had their access to the “long tail” of the internet cut by 90%. Others say it’s tanking Reddit’s stock (the photo attached to this post is making the rounds) and reshaping SEO. Let’s pause for a moment and look at what actually happened: 1. The &num=100 parameter was never officially supported. It was just a handy workaround for SEOs and tools to grab 100 results at once. 2. As of mid-September 2025, that’s no longer possible. Tools now need to make 10 smaller requests instead of one big one. 3. That increases crawl load, API costs, and in some cases causes wobbles in analytics data (like impressions or average position) that don’t reflect real SEO changes. Why might Google have done this? Probably not to bring down AI. More likely to: 1. Protect its infrastructure from large-scale scraping. 2. Encourage reliance on Google Search Console for official data. 3. Limit the free use of its algorithm by external models and scrapers. In other words: yes, this change adds friction, especially for SEO vendors, but it’s far from catastrophic. As I said to a colleague: if I can figure out how to click “next” on a SERP, I’m sure the AI models can too.

A week ago, Barcelona was buzzing. We brought together 60+ Locarians from around the world for the second edition of Spain Summer Connect, taking over the effortlessly cool cinema room at Soho House & Co. The spotlight? Our people, showing off their brilliance. But the real kicker? Just how quickly we’ve hardwired automation and AI into our DNA. Our AAEE department (AI & Automation for Efficiency and Effectiveness, launched only two years ago) dropped some jaw-dropping numbers, solid proof that their innovations are already reshaping the way we and our clients work. Locaria isn’t just talking about the future of multilingual content. We’re building it. How can brands make sure they’re AI-search ready? A question we were recently asked by The Drum Our head of organic performance, Lorraine van den Biggelaar, shared her perspective in their latest piece: “In the AI search era, authority wins. A well-thought-out keyword mapping strategy is no longer good enough. We are no longer competing for keyword rankings on a page-by-page basis; we are competing to become a source for LLMs. [...] It’s no longer just about the overall structure and content of your site; it’s about contextual authority and consistency across everything that’s out there” Her advice for brands navigating this shift: 🔹Build contextual authority. Publish fact-rich, credible content rooted in genuine expertise. 🔹Think beyond translation. For multilingual markets, shape native-language content around local search habits, cultural nuance, and terminology. 🔹Earn citations that count. Appear in reputable, locally relevant sources that AI can trust. 🔹Play the long game. Authority is built steadily, not overnight. 📖 Read the full article in The Drum here: https://lnkd.in/eqd3hPTc

Houston, we have a problem. AI is rewriting how customers first meet your brand. It pulls from resellers, affiliates, journalists and influencers. Then it presents the mix as if it were the truth. If that version is inconsistent, out of date or inaccurate, that is how people remember you. And when it is multiplied across languages and markets, the risks grow fast. ✔ 36% of consumers say chatbot suggestions always influence their buying decisions ✔ Brands with consistent presentation see 23% higher revenue ✔ 90% of automated responses about current affairs contain inaccuracies The old governance playbook does not cut it anymore. By the time you notice a problem, it has already spread. So what now? It is time to treat brand consistency like SEO: always on, measurable and adaptable to how information spreads today. Our own Dominic Lucker breaks this down in his new piece for The Drum: 👉 https://lnkd.in/dTpNKP-2

You've probably seen a lot of hype around Instagram’s latest update in the last month, making public professional content indexable by Google, however it's not the watershed moment some have made it out to be. In fact Google has been indexing Instagram for a few years now. That's not to say nothing is changing though, no smoke without fire and all that. Google is rolling it out across more markets, so there is a change for some (if you're impacted you'll have received the notification in the photo below). Still, it's a great time to remind everyone why optimising your Instagram content matters! Why This Matters for International Organic Media - Searchable Local Content: Localised Instagram posts (crafted in-market and in-language) can reach audiences via Google, not just within the app. This means your Spanish, Japanese, or Arabic posts can drive organic discovery in local search results, not just among your followers. - SEO Meets Local Nuance: Captions, hashtags, and alt text in local languages are critical. Keyword research and cultural adaptation for each market will directly influence not only in-app engagement, but also search engine visibility. - Cross-Border Discoverability: Brands can now surface regionally relevant content to users searching in their native language, supporting both global consistency and local resonance. How to Capitalise on the Update - Prioritise Multilingual SEO: Integrate local keyword research and search intent analysis into your Instagram content planning. Use market-specific language and culturally relevant hashtags to enhance search performance in each target country. - Localise Captions and Alt Text: Don’t just translate, transcreate. Ensure captions and alt text reflect local idioms, trends, and search behaviours to maximise relevance and discoverability. - Leverage Local Teams: Collaborate with in-market experts to ensure your Instagram content aligns with local preferences, regulations, and sensitivities. - Monitor by Market: Track which localised posts appear in Google Search across different regions, and refine your approach based on performance data. Get in touch with us at locaria.com to talk about how to make your localised Instagram content work harder for your brand, on social, in search, and everywhere your customers are looking.
