🗞️ Loop Technology’s partner Clean-Lasersysteme GmbH are now a part of the IPG Photonics Group! 🤝 This recent acquisition brings together the leading specialist in laser cleaning with the global leader in fibre laser technology, whose equipment and components are used across an enormous range of industrial applications. 🗣️ Mark Gitin, CEO of IPG Photonics, stated: “This is a pivotal moment for our combined teams as we focus on driving the growth of laser cleaning systems worldwide. With our resources and shared commitment, we are well prepared to meet rising demand and lead the industry forward.” He added: “Cleaning is an important opportunity because traditional cleaning applications often rely on high levels of environmentally unfriendly consumables, such as acids and abrasives that must be disposed of.” 💡 Loop Technology’s Business Development Manager and specialist in laser cleaning, Gary Ottley, also commented on the deal: “This presents a great opportunity for cleanLASER. 🍰 Last Friday we held a Bake Off in the Dorchester office to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support. The atmosphere was intense to begin with, the six bakers eager to see how their dishes were to be received by the solemn judging panel, and the rest of the attendees keen for the results to be announced, so they could eat the rest of the cake! All of the entries were well received, with some very high marks handed out. 🧁 However, there had to be a winner and it was our Project Engineer, Velichka Koeva, with her mouth-watering traditional Bulgarian pastry, Banitsa!! 🎉 Congratulations to everyone who took part and donated, having raised £120 for an amazing charity. 🙂

💫 We have a new arrival at Loop Technology HQ and it’s another big one!! The FANUC M-2000iA 2300 is the strongest industrial robot in the world with a massive payload of 2300 kg, weighing in at 11 tonnes and over 3.7 metres of reach. It can lift and position entire cars, bulky castings, large-scale dies, moulds and much more. 💫 👨👩👧👦 This adds to the family of M-2000iA robots that we have had at Loop Technology in the last year, with the 1700 having an even longer reach and weighing more than this 2300, at nearly 4.7 metres and 12.5 Tonnes respectively! 🤖 👩🔧 Our engineers are working on the largest-scale robotic systems in the UK, at the intersection of advanced manufacturing and automation, continually pushing the boundaries and frontier of aerospace and other industries. 🎯 Loop Technology are experts in metrology and calibration, building bespoke and advanced systems for customers who require highly precise automated measurement and robotic positioning. We specialize in using machine vision for tasks such as determining an accurate Tool Centre Point (TCP), kinematic calibration when base transforming DH parameters for robots and real time pose estimation. 🤖 One subset of expertise is bespoke integration of Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) probe devices. 🎉The recent opening of our Sheffield office marks an exciting new chapter for Loop Technology, as we continue to expand across the UK, alongside our HQ in Dorchester, Dorset and additional office in Bristol. 🏭 This new facility will provide a strategic new base in South Yorkshire, with Sheffield City Centre just a few miles away, and major cities such as Manchester, Leeds and Nottingham nearby. It is also just a few minutes from the AMRC and the new COMPASS facility, providing an excellent location as we continue to progress on the Isothermic High Rate Sustainable Structures project, with Boeing, Spirit AeroSystems and the AMRC. ❇️ Our CEO, Alun Reece, commented on the new facility: “Due to a big upswing in orders, Loop Technology had to execute a rapid expansion plan. Several sites were considered but the standout was the Advanced Manufacturing Park. With modern, energy efficient factory space ready for occupation and abundant local talent, the Sheffield / Rotherham conurbation provided everything we were looking for. And I’m pleased to say its been everything we were hoping it would be.
