Breaking ground on Hanoi’s Floating Opera House 🎭 We’re thrilled to celebrate a major milestone in Vietnam! At the beginning of this month, construction officially began on the Hanoi Opera House, also known as Isola Della Musica.  This cultural landmark is a collaboration between the Hanoi People’s Committee and our client, Sun Group. Mace Consult in Vietnam is proud to have been appointed to provide project management services throughout the 29-month engagement, running from June 2025 to October 2027. Designed by world-renowned RPBW Renzo Piano Building Workshop, the opera house will be a bold new icon for Hanoi’s skyline and a powerful catalyst for cultural exchange, artistic excellence, and creative collaboration in Vietnam. Celebrating inclusive design and sustainable urban futures 💚     Our Country Director for Qatar, Tracey Hunte - Serot, moderated a powerful panel session at CityscapeWIRE (Women in Real Estate) in Doha this week.     The session, ‘Designed to Thrive: Creating Human-Centric Spaces That Inspire & Connect’, explored how contemporary human-centric design can be balanced with traditional architectural heritage to support wellbeing and community growth.    The panel also highlighted how technology and sustainable practices are shaping Qatar and the region’s evolving urban landscape, enhancing comfort, health and productivity while integrating nature into the built environment.     We’re proud of Tracey’s important contribution to this event and ongoing leadership that continues to drive meaningful conversation around wellbeing and inclusivity.     Cityscape Cityscape Qatar #MaceConsult #MaceMEA #WomenInConstruction 

Engineering progress at Heathrow ✈️ We’ve recently completed a major upgrade to British Airways Fleet Support Unit hangar doors - enhancing resilience and efficiency at one of the world’s busiest airports. 📊 At a glance: • 3,792 sq m of doors - equal to 3 Olympic swimming pools • 10-panel configuration per door • Precision 3-crane lift strategy Delivered in a live environment, the project involved hydro-demolition robots to protect critical infrastructure, temporary weatherproof screens to maintain operations, and just-in-time logistics to avoid queuing. Collaboration with BA Engineering and our supply chain was central to success - weekly planning sessions and early supplier engagement helped us embed lessons learned and reduce risk across both phases. This National T-Level Week, we’re celebrating the brilliant students who’ve joined us on placements during their T level studies, gaining real-world experience on some of our most exciting projects and who have recently joined Mace's 2025 apprenticeship programme.🧑🎓🏗️ Tyler Adrien is an apprentice at ECMWF in Reading, Rodrigo Figueira Dias at the UCL IoN-DRI project, Nyla-Rae Graham on the Peterborough Court interiors project and Cameron Pratt at Heathrow. They have all brought fresh thinking and real energy to our teams. T-Levels are the newest technical qualification for students aged 16 to 19 - equivalent to three A Levels and designed with industry in mind. Over two years, students complete 45 days of real-world experience to help kick-start their careers. Thanks to City of Westminster College, Southbank Technical College, Harrow Uxbridge and Richmond College for helping us support and recruit the next generation of construction talent. #TLevelWeek #EarlyCareers #MaceConstruct

Celebrating the Grand Opening of Bletchley Depot 🚆🎉 In September, West Midlands Trains welcomed partners from across the rail industry and local communities to mark the official opening of the new Bletchley Train Maintenance Depot. The event showcased the depot’s cutting-edge capabilities and the long-term benefits it will bring to passengers and operations and we were proud celebrate this major milestone. As part of WMT’s £1 billion investment programme, the £80 million depot is now home to the new Class 730/2 electric fleet, supporting improved reliability and performance across the network. Mace provided expert consultancy services throughout the project, and we’re delighted to have played a role in bringing this complex and high-value development to life.
