We’re delighted to share that Zoë Johnson, Chief Scientific & Development Officer at Molecule to Medicine, will deliver a lecture at The Francis Crick Institute on 9th October, to coincide with the 2025 Sir David Cooksey prize in Translation awards. Zoë’s talk, titled “From Molecule to Medicine: Translating Innovation into Impact,” will explore her journey through the world of translational science — highlighting how thoughtful development strategies can turn scientific discoveries into life-changing therapies. Locked up for a good cause! On Thursday 18th September, our CEO Kirsty McCarthy will be among the business leaders ‘locked up’ at Oxford Castle & Prison as part of Helen & Douglas House’s Jail & Bail corporate fundraiser. Each ‘inmate’ will only be released once they’ve raised £999 in bail money, with all funds going to support local children with life-limiting conditions and their families. Kirsty shared: "Helen & Douglas House are a valued part of our community, consistently doing great work brightening the days of those who need it most. We at MTM are happy to get to work with them as often as we do, and I'm happy to 'serve time' for such a worthwhile cause!" The Molecule to Medicine ecosystem will be out in full force for the inaugural European BioCentury Inc. Grand Rounds in Cambridge from September 17th-19th. This event is focused on tackling the roadblocks in translational research, and so we look forward to sharing the exciting progress our companies have made in enabling excellent science to become lifesaving medicine. The Pathios Therapeutics team, including COO Shelley Cook and VP of Biology Barbara Cipriani, will be presenting on progress as the first company to advance a GPR65 antagonist into the oncology clinic, including the ongoing monotherapy dose escalation phase of the RAISIC-1 clinical trial and planned expansion cohorts starting early next year. Tom McCarthy (MTM and Lucia Bio’s Exec Chair) will represent our Brisbane pod. He’ll be presenting our portfolio company, Lucia Bio, that is developing next-generation spleen tyrosine kinase (Syk) inhibitors with application in a range of immune mediated diseases of the periphery and CNS, and our Series A capital raising plans.
