Our Monkey Puzzle team have spent a lot of 2025 travelling to visit clients so here are Sarah Andrews top 5 tips for arriving refreshed and ready to tackle work. ✈️ 🌍 1. Stay hydrated and keep your skin happy 😊 Long-haul flights really dehydrate me, so my top tip is drink plenty of water. Also packing a mini in-flight skincare kit - a good moisturiser, eye cream, and hand cream - will really ease “air con" skin and help you feel human again when you land. 2. Beat jet lag by easing into local time ⏱️ If possible, when I arrive at my hotel or rental, I head out straight out for a walk to get some fresh air and move my body after the confinement of a plane - a change of scenery and some daylight can really help reorient you to local time. I find eating dinner at my “normal" dinner time but in the new time zone and heading to bed as close to my usual time as possible helps my body clock adjust faster so I can make the most of the trip from day one. 3. Get connected with a local e-SIM in USA 📱 If you’re travelling around the US, I found that an e-SIM with a local phone number (not just data) is a game-changer. Restaurants, sightseeing events, (and nail salons) will text confirmations and updates - and I find it’s cheaper than relying on your UK number. Also if you get stuck or are running late and need to make a phone call to local services, you’ll be glad you’re not sitting in a hold queue using UK tariffs! 4. Bring your own brew ☕ If you’re a tea or coffee lover (guilty!), pack your favourite teabags and coffee bags. The comfort of a “proper" cuppa can’t be underestimated when you’re far from home. 5. Let your bank know you’re off travelling abroad 💳 A quick call to your bank before you go can save the hassle of frozen cards. It’s especially important if you’ve got direct debits going out on the same day you make personal purchases abroad (I learnt this the hard way!!)
