Last month at AOW: Energy 2025, OPITO was proud to contribute to the African Content Forum, hosted by the Ghanaian Petroleum Commission and the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board. Our associate, Laura Peinke, joined a powerful panel exploring “Driving Development from Within: Elevating Local Talent, Technology and Solutions in the Oil & Gas Industry.” Key themes included the growing strength of Africa’s local content capabilities, the critical role of collaboration across public and private sectors, and the importance of aligning training and qualifications with market demand. Laura highlighted OPITO’s commitment to supporting emerging energy regions - such as Namibia, Mozambique and Côte d'Ivoire - through career awareness, institutional capacity building, and the implementation of industry-led standards and qualifications. Together, we’re working to empower a skilled, safe and future-ready workforce across the continent - supporting Africa’s emergence as a key player in the global energy transition. 📷 Jacob Idungafa, Sue Reuther, Henning Fotland, Sibongile Malie, Ranti Omole, Laura Peinke #OPITO

At #OPITOGlobal2025, the launch of the OPITO Products Bar marked a key moment in showcasing how technology is shaping the future of workforce development. Designed as an interactive hub, the Products Bar gave delegates the opportunity to engage directly with OPITO’s product development and marketing teams, explore the latest tools, and discuss how digital innovation is being embedded across OPITO’s portfolio. Building on this, the Day 2 Products Workshop offered a deeper dive into the application of these technologies. Set inside a virtual hydrogen plant, the session demonstrated how immersive environments, hybrid lesson plans, and emergency response simulations are being used to enhance safety-critical training. Delegates experienced first-hand how OPITO is leveraging digital tools to support industry readiness and learner engagement. Both activations reflected the event’s theme, Empowering Tomorrow: Embracing Technology for a Safer Future, and reinforced OPITO’s commitment to supporting the energy sector through scalable, forward-looking solutions.
