This week, Brazil approved a retroactive betting tax, and scrapped the proposed 50% rise. The new “Litígio Zero Bets” scheme introduces a 15% tax and 15% fine, giving operators 90 days to voluntarily declare past assets. The government expects to raise around $2.3bn through the initiative.
