About us

Oxford EARTH (Ensuring equitable Access to sustainable Resources for a Thriving Habitat) is the University of Oxford’s pioneering research programme dedicated to tackling the critical challenges of sustainable natural resource management. Essential to achieving the net-zero energy transition, Oxford EARTH addresses issues such as discovering and sustainably extracting critical raw materials, bioremediating environmental impacts, and creating resilient supply chains for renewable energy technologies. This innovative programme unites leading researchers from nine departments across the University: Earth Sciences, Engineering, Biology, Chemistry, Materials, Business, Economics, Law, and Geography. Through this collaborative, multidisciplinary approach, Oxford EARTH aims to position Oxford as a global leader in the field of sustainable and equitable resource research, providing solutions that address ecological, economic, and social dimensions.
